    Today is the Birthday of Chaplain (Col) Allen D. Ferry (Ret)

    That got me to thinking - How many birthdays did you spend on deployment, at sea, FTX or on an unaccompanied overseas duty.from your family?

    Do you remember any special feelings of that day?

    I know you said birthdays, but I I joined in 2008, and the first father's day I had home was in 2014, just before I got out.

    As far as birthdays, there were 2 birthdays I spent oversees, as well as one Christmas.

    While in Afghanistan, my team decided to be funny for Halloween. We dressed up as civilians and went door to door in tent city asking for candy.
