    Interesting article...

And, the purpose for sharing this is?

Or, should I just assume something and go off on a rant?

I skimmed the article but I don't know one thing about Black Sabbath, Wagner or the Simpsons. What was your take on it?

The Simpsons is one of best documentaries on tv.... :D
Black Sabbath aren't on tv...The Osbournes are, but the less said about that the better...
Wagner died before tv was invented...

I took a look at the C & F# example they gave and fiddled a bit on guitar and was about to sulk at them for having a thing against power-chords...then I had another looked and realised it was F# not F with the C...So yeah it's a sorta minory 7thy bluesy ok I dunno what it is thing that I'll have to try next time I play Be Thou My Vision... :D

    It's silly.

    During "Great is thy Faithfullness".....

There is no shadow of turning with Thee

If you are playing the song in C, you will transition to the "D" chord right at turning. That chord contains the dreaded F#, or the "evil tri-tone" .

They also used to call fiddles "devil's boxes".

Oh yeah, and that witch-burning thingy.

Let's face it, religious zealots from that era have a poor track record.

Black Sabbath was one of the (if not the first) Heavy Metal Bands...

The first two albums were 'interesting' and had music which with a little imagination could redily be used in a Black Mass... Hence the name "Black Sabbath".

The third album "Master of Reality" had an interesting song on it, titled "After Forever" which seemed to indicate that at least one of the band memebers had found Christ...

In fact I understand the drummer now plays for TBN, though I know that doesn't neccesarily hold much weight. [IMG]

Anyway, when Volume Four came out it was Heavy Metal and explicitly told the Jesus Freaks to get out of their faces...

Ozzies stage persona got worse and worse thereafter...

    Hope this helps...

Still disproves the dichotomy some try to make of "all of the good music of godly Western Christian heritage", and "the sensual, devilish (because of backbeat, syncopation, etc.) music of today".

I know nothing about music theory...and it shows in my playing :( But anyway...Wouldn't just about any 7th chord have the "Devil's Interval" in them? Looked at it again on guitar and it seems like it...

Oh well, no more 7ths for me...that just leaves minors, 2s 4s & 6s...Maybe an occasional 9... [IMG]

Yep, every major 7th has the "Devil's Interval". I'll continue to use them, though, because they make modulating so easy. [IMG]

What's the world coming to, I was actually right about something to do with the cockroach-footprint-black-dot-stuff that people insist on putting on songs... :D

Anyway forget yer Black Sabbath, I found chords of old Joe Walsh/Eagles song on net and having a hit at that...way this is going I'm going to have to excommunicate myself from here ;)
