Bush Honors The Dalai Lama With A Medal Of Honor As A Great Spiritual Leader?

The Dalai Lama is a great spiritual leader among Buddhists.

 

President Bush has a great deal of concern that the Buddhists and Muslims not be offended. Too bad he doesn't feel that way about Christians.

 

Does everything that a president or the Congress does have to meet the approval of a particular group of Christians? I don't think so.

 

The Dalai Lama is a peaceful leader for millions of people. Bush is President of all Americans, so I don't see the problem. He isn't promoting Buddhism.

 

Why should he feel that way about Christians ?

Christians don't blow you up, or blow themselves up near you, or chop off heads. They don't demand that their religion be respected while not respecting other religions like the Muslims do.

Christians don't immolate themselves like Buddhists do.

Christians are push-overs.

 

Got a broad brush there, pinoy.

Not all Muslims blow you up.
Not all Buddhists immolate themselves.
Not all Christians picket solders funerals or shoot abortion doctors.

 

I guess you won't be the first choice to share the gospel of God's grace with a Muslim or a Buddhist.

 

Gotta agree. This is pure politics. It is a slap in the face for the Chinese and an attempt to free Tibet from China. Other than that it is meaningless.

He promoted the Moslem faith when he claimed that Christians and Moslems worship the same god and that Moslems will make it to heaven but by a different route. If anythinf is blasphemy this was it. Maybe he wants to include Buddhists as well.

 

He isn't paid to make pronouncements of who goes where, or what god they worship. He is paid to be a statesman, a diplomat, and President of ALL Americans.

While paying homage to a few million Buddhists, he ticked off a few billion Chinese, so it can't be diplomacy. I don't get it.

 

Yeah, a great spiritual leader....from the dark side, leading millions "happily" to hell.

 

OR maybe he just ticked off a handful of Chinese government officials.

 

On a side note in honor of the Dali Lama's visit Carrol Channing performed the award winning song "Hello Dali". The Dali Lama was later heard to say that he thought the performance was the worst Louis Armstrong impersonation he had ever heard.
