Pastors: Administration 'hypocritical' for throwing book at woman

Some Christian leaders are protesting the Bush administration decision to seek up to six months in federal prison for Wenyi Wang, the woman who shouted at the president and Chinese leader Hu Jintao at the White House last week.

At the event, Wang, who got access to the White House grounds as a media representative with a Chinese opposition paper, shouted, "President Bush, stop him (President Hu) from persecuting Falun Gong" and "President Bush, stop him from killing."

In Chinese, the woman shouted, "President Hu, your days are numbered."

"Her crime? Shouting out for President Bush to help stop the killing and religious persecution of Falun Gong. We believe these federal charges are sending a horrible message to the worldwide community concerning America's commitment to protecting religious freedom and liberties.

"It seems extremely hypocritical for the White House to roll out the red carpet for a world leader whose government supports the trampling and crushing of human rights. And, at the same time pursue prison time for a women fighting to end religious persecution and violence. Our message is clear: President Bush, support religious freedom and the First Amendment, and drop all charges against Dr. Wang."

She embarassed Bush and the United States. Not a good thing, but there's no point in being vengeful like this.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe this law began with Bush, and neither has it only been enforced under Bush. I agree it is wrong, but let's keep it from being a political smearfest.

Are there special rules once you get a press pass? Is it against the law to yell at a visiting president? It sounds like this deserves the you can't play here anymore treatment and move along.

I agree with the article to the extent that we should not roll out the red carpet for China. China is a threat and they have never been treated like they should. They also should have never been granted MFN, that should be revoked immediately.

Dr. Wenyi Wang, the Epoch Times journalist who made headlines last week for interrupting a speech at the White House by Chinese leader Hu Jintao, defended her actions during a press conference Wednesday, saying that thousands of lives hang in the balance as the Chinese communist regime prepares kill thousands of Falun Gong adherents in coming weeks.

The press conference was also attended by two informants who exposed last month the existence of what they called a concentration camp in northeast China—dubbed Sujiatun—where thousands of Falun Gong adherents are killed for their organs. The witnesses, who have asked to be called "Annie" and "Peter" for their safety, say that Chinese hospitals are scrambling to perform as many organ transplants as possible before a May 1st deadline, an apparent timeline to destroy evidence of the organ harvesting in advance of a new law that is supposed to curb the sale of organs in China.

"They are going to slaughter thousands, and my colleagues in China who took oaths to protect human life are doing this," said a stone-faced Wang.

It's okay, though, China has Permanent Trade Status with the US in spite of it's record on human rights (thanks to Congress, President Clinton, and President GW Bush) - and the little lady was out of line. No problem. [/sarcasm]

To cover these things up, excuse them, and finance them is no different than how the world reacted when Hitler was in power. Evil is evil, whether we want to admit the blood dripping from our own hands or not. And by us, I mean all of us who continue to make China rich and look the other way out of political correctness.
