Here's a link to all their DC phone numbers:

    http://www.teamamericapac.org/senatenumbers.htm

Or you can go on your Senators' web sites and call locally to their staff to tell them you are against any amnesty or guest worker program.

I just called my Senators' offices and also told them the INS ought to be at those protests rounding all the Mexican flag carriers up since they probably are here illegally.

Also, English needs to be made our National Language. In Nashville public schools alone, services are provided for 78 languages at taxpayer expense. Ridiculous.

Won't make any difference here in Arkansas as my senators are all liberal Democrats...but I will call anyway. BTW, for all you folks in the GOP who have any ideas about nominating the Huckster in 08, let me inform you that he also supports illegal immigration.

Moderate only in packaging. In the end, no matter what you or I say, they will vote for the illegals.

    1. Has granted clemency many convicted rapists and murderers (Think Dukakis).
    2. Pushed for passage of a bill that would give state money for illegal aliens to go to college and then called those of us who were against it racist.
    3. Pushed for mandatory BMI tests of all schoolkids.
    4. He is currently pushing to ban all smoking in all public places.

He is basically a liberal. I will not vote for him again (yes...he is one of the few votes I really regret now). I will actively campaing against him.

Round up all illegal immigrants, Latino, Asian, Arab, African, or whatever !
    Deport them !
Create a database of those rounded up and deported !
Let them come back and in when they are legal !
Compassion does not mean bending over and letting them give it to us ..... !!

God requires that we show love and compassion to aliens. In Deuteronomy 10:18–19, we
learn that "God defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien,
giving him food and clothing. And you are to love those who are aliens, for you
yourselves were aliens in Egypt." Leviticus 19:33-34 teaches us, "when an alien lives
with you in your land, do not mistreat him. The alien living with you must be treated as
one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the
    Lord your God."

Surely as a nation we must make laws which are just and follow God's will (e.g. respect for the dignity of ALL human LIFE). I think with the Old testament's commands showing love to immgrants - and - Jesus' command to care for the 'least of these', that the erection of a 700-mile wall and repatriating 11 million hardworking human beings is somewhat unbiblical.

Its not a liberal issue - im a conservative evangelical - its a moral and economic issue. Immigrants are a necessity for the US economy, the US was built on immigration and the concept that if you work hard then 'the laborer is worthy of his reward' And immigrants work the longest hours, in the worst jobs to provide their familys with hope.

So like World Relief, the humanitarian arm of the National Association of Evangelicals, lets support compassionate politics and oppose the criminilaztion of the 'least of these' [why not sign the evangelical petition below:) ]

"America is a stronger and better nation because of the hard work and the faith and entrepreneurial spirit of immigrants.... Our country has always benefited from the dreams that others have brought here. By working hard for a better life, immigrants contribute to the life of our nation." President George W. Bush, Jan. 7, 2004

Julian, with all due respect, Great Britain has a problem with illegal immigration, also. I wonder why you would care about America's illegal immigrants so far from where you live and not directly affecting your life.

No one is calling for "criminalization" of legal immigrants, but for illegal aliens, which, since they broke the Laws of the United States by entering illegally, makes them criminals the moment they set foot on American soil.

And America has a proud history of loving, feeding, clothing, and giving health care, shelter, warmth, and good treatment to all those who are LEGAL aliens, as well as the handouts we have given to the ILLEGAL ones, as well. Not all 11-20 million ILLEGAL aliens are hardworking as you would have us believe. Many are here living on the public dole. And a lot of the hardworking ones, as you put it, are accepting wages under the table at less than what our Federal Wage Laws require. Also, they break our laws by smuggling drugs and gangs into our country, as well as other human beings. Additionally, many do not respect our zoning laws, our traffic laws, pay taxes or Social Security. And many are here for political reasons - to take back land they claim as a part of Mexico, the Southwestern States, which belongs to the USA.

Well, one of the senators from Kentucky (both conservative and republican) says he has not made up his mind, that he does not have a good feel for how his constituents think.

As a christian my duty is to be concerned for the whole of humanity, not just the UK. Plus i study US politics at university.

Stop sterotyping. You know as well as i do that most aren't the criminal you imply they are.

Sure some do do degenerate illegal activities like Drug-Dealing, but so do some British people. Don't just tarr everyone with the same brush. BTW in the UK such populist rhetoric was common about legal black immigrants in th 50's and 60's - it wasn't true- but a lotta people believed it.

Do you not think that the fact that they are willing to risk death crossing the border, suffer day in day out prejudice and stereotyping, just so they can get a sub-min wage salary, shows just how desperate and needy they are.
If you grew up in Mexico, and you family lived in a slum in poverty - would you not want to try and make for them a better life - can you not understand why they risked so much to enter the country 'illlegally'. If we've got the shortages, big-business wants them, why not allow them to do the jobs!!!

Allowing such hardworking people to apply for citizenship (e.g Guestworker program) will allow them to pay taxes and fully contribute to society.

also on the other forum Ladyeagle you responded to the following Q about the 1/2 million protesters

I wonder how many of these protesters are part of MEChA or La Raza and trying to "liberate Aztlan"?

    with:

Do you really think that most of the 500,000 are activley engaged in terrorist subterfuge. Such callous remarks are not only false, but they help reinforce ungrounded and incorrect prejudices
Most mexicans are not terrorists and insidiuos invaders plotting to to "take back land", fact!

LTN, another fact is that all illegal aliens are, in reality, unpunished criminals. That fact cannot be refuted. Not only are they criminals, but they pay no taxes, but receive free medical care when needed, they attend our schools that are funded by LEGAL citizens who pay their taxes, they attend college paying the same tuition in state supported institutions as LEGAL residents do, etc. You say it is a fact that most "mexicans" are not terrorists. How can you verify that. While it is probablyy true, it cannot be stated as a fact.

Now they demonstrate against our laws while carrying the flag of Mexico. I say the are criminals and should be treated as such.

Jesus and the apostles all stated that Christians are to obey the laws of the land wherein they live and by so doing put others to shame. If these folks came in legally, they would not have to experience the dangers and hardships of their illegal enty into this nation. If any person wants to enter the country to better himself/herself let them do so legally, and I for one will welcome them.

For those who are here illegaly, the law should be applied swiftly and firmly, they should be deported back to the country of their origin.

We Americans are not subject to the Law of Moses. The parts of the Law of Moses that you quoted were given only to the Israelites in the Old Testament. They were never given to Christians who are under the Law of Christ - which is love God and love your neighbor.

And loving my neighbor does not mean that my government has to leave our borders wide open to invasion.

ST, i understand you point but i don't agree that they are like common criminals.

To reiterate, if they are willing to risk death crossing the border, suffer day in day out prejudice and stereotyping, just so they can get a sub-min wage salary... then surely that says something about their motives. I dont think they do it 'with evil in their heart'.

Presumably the legal processes are too slow and don't allow enough immigrants in.

I agree that border security needs to be strengthened to stop further illegal immigration. However the point is, they are here now, have been living here for years and contributing to the US economy (i.e. there low wage keeps prices down for all amercians). Allowing a guestworker program enables them to pay those back taxes... Deporting 20 million hardworking human beings- many with settled familys- strikes me as very harsh, bearing in mind they are not common 'evil' criminal like burglars.

Since they were carrying the Mexican flag at their protest marches and collectively gathered at the behest/instructions/directions from Spanish speaking web sites and radical groups who organized the "protest" rallies, you betcha. And not necessarily the bomb throwing kind, but they broke the law when they entered this country illegally and are breaking other laws in this country as well, even when they work hard, as long as they accept wages that are under the table or below the Federal Minimum Wage Laws.
