Can the pastor tell me to get out the Church?

Far too often I hear of pastors who enter the cowards castle, the pulpit, to extoll his dictums, couched in scripture, appropriately chosen to support him.

A lad can only be whipped so much and eventually he revolts. So it is with a congregation. Either they will stand up and be counted or they will run away to survive.

When a preacher stops lifting the Saviour high in every sermon, and in his life, it is past time to make changes, and, as a pastor, I would expect that when I no longer lift up the Saviour, and the people, I should be escorted to the front door.....not even the back door because I am no longer a servant.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I think you need to examine your concept of IFB pastors. I belong to an IFB chruch and my pastor is anything but a dictator. He is one of the kindest most giving and loving people I have ever met. You should never state that anyone you don't know has not much buble knowledge. From the tone of your statement I might just be tempted to say the same about you, but I won't.

The first Baptist church Ii ever attended was IFB,
and it was a fine church with a fine pastor and a
wonderful congregation. I will never forget their
kindnesses or what they TRIED to teach me. I
    finally learned it years later.

Well, you need to go to the Lord in prayer, first.

Make sure you have a good spirit about this issue, and after much prayer, approach your pastor about this issue.

But don't spread this among anyone else.

Why dont you suggest to the Pastor, that he go and do his job description and shepherd the flock. Leave those who are called to be Teachers and Evangalists to do the public addresses in church.

    1 Timothy 5:

17: Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
18: For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
19: Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
20: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
21: I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
22: Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
23: Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
24: Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
25: Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.

Is this not a matter for the Deacons of the Church, and or the Church Board?

If those who are in leadership, honor this pastor's teaching, then he is reflective of the assembly. If there are two or three witnesses which as a group bring this before the Deacons, and the leadership, and majority of the Church support this pastor then testimony should seek other fellowship, or reconcile.

There can be a lack of communication, and personality clashes, wounded hearts, and a deep and abiding misunderstanding. These considerations should be brought before the leadership, and the leadership needs to lead and minister to those wounded, including the pastor.

May God surround His precious children with His eternal love, and perfect will for His precious ones.

    A servant of Christ,
    Drew
