In all likelihood all of us can name an individual off their head who they consider to be a text-book example of apostasy. While of course few would consider themselves apostates and Christians at the same time, very few Christians, in my opinion, ponder their chances of going rogue and turning apostates. Is there any chance of completely renouncing your faith....treading underfoot the Son of God,counting the blood of the covenant that sanctified you as unholy, and despising the Spirit of grace like the subject of this verse? Hebrews 10:29 (KJV) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? .
