Click away. I won't be bullied.

My discussion is with Rhodes. If he choses not to continue the discussion, then so be it.

    Here's an idea...

Why don't you start you own "I hate CCM" thread.

Or a "We hate CCM" and see how many can gather there and run it down.

Or how about a "Hymns are the only way to worship God" thread.

Or how about a "If it isn't the music I like, It's of the Devil" thread.

The choices of titles are unlimited. Just pick one and run with it.

    Just my suggestion.

Tiny, Aaron, others in this discussion -

I'm sorry if I derailed this thread. I didn't intend for my initial post (which I self-edited) to take the tangent that it has taken. As for my place in a debate about what is worship and what is not, especially with you Aaron, I have no desire or intent to do it. As much as I disagree with your viewpoint, I have proven in the past that I don't have the debate chops that you have. While I might have some other points I could bring forward, it would serve no real point because no one's going to change their mind.

I've been beaten up too many times in the last year to subject myself to it. So I'll hopefully bow out gracefully, giving this thread back to Tiny with my apologies.

Doesn't Casting Crowns do a song about trains derailing?

OK, since we are back on topic, one of my favorite part of their Concert last week was the fact that there were thousands there worshipping together... Praising God.

Also, the whole band came down to the front of the stage and each one prayed for different types of people in the audience. From youth, to seniors, to fathers, to parents that have lost children, to the lost...
The prayer lasted about 15 minutes.... Mark Hall really has a true heart for Christ and prayer... and missions... He shared a video on a mission trip he took to India last yr.

    God bless their ministry...

that's one of the things I like about Mark and CC...at their concerts, the Word of God is preached. Nothing wrong with a concert....but their "concerts" are much more than that. God is being worshipped...in spirit and in truth, even...

Go pm to discuss private one-on-one questions. Keep this for the general question.

What is "casting crowns"? (Remember my position on music, if it wasn't written before 1800 it's probably evil.) :BangHead:

I saw them at the University of Miami a few years ago and really enjoyed the concert. My problem was that there was such much talking between the songs, including information about a specific mission group and then they took a love offering -- and that was after paying $$$ for tickets. Despite that, I would go see them again in a heartbeat.

IMHO, great lyrics, great music. The lead singer, Mark Hall, is still a youth Pastor in a Baptist church in Georgia. Go check out their web page at
http://www.castingcrowns.com/site.php and you can see what the big fuss is all about.

Yeah that is also something that impresses me...

Mark Hall still makes sure he is there on Sundays and Wednesdays...
Plus the band members teach in their local church as well...

Their priority is on SERVING God... not becoming famous..
    But God is blessing them.

In fact, Mark left the Saturday night concert early so he could catch a plane back home, get some sleep and be there for his youth group the next morning. You can obviously see why folks don't like them.

What are the Scriptural criteria for spiritual worship, and how does this group conform to them?

That's such a great example to so many who would blow off church for whatever reason they come up with. He's dedicated and faithful, that's for sure! DEFINATELY someone to applaud.

    Dear Aaron,

You wrote: " What are the Scriptural criteria for spiritual worship, and how does this group conform to them? "

Actually the question should read: " What is Aaron's criteria for spiritual worship, and how does this group conform to it ?

Go ahead and mock me, that'll show everyone the level of spiritual maturity that one "so holy" as yourself truly has.

    In Christ,

    Dale

Aaron, since you are stuck on this question, I started a thread for you.. so you won't keep trying to hijack this thread....

    Here... http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?p=1134474#post1134474

I asked the first part of the question in that thread...

Now to answer the second part of your question that is directed toward CC... here you go...

They worship God by speaking and singing TRUTH.
They worship God by allowing the Holy SPIRIT flow through them....

I worshipped God by recognizing and thanking HIM for the TRUTH.
And allowing the Holy SPIRIT work on me...

If you want to discuss what Truth and Spirit has to do with worship, do it in the other thread... This thread is devoted to Casting Crowns concerts.... They are true believers and Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

And unless you are familiar with them you have no right to cast doubt on their calling...

Now, I am going away for a few days, but I may check in every so often... but if I don't, I will be back this weekend.

I saw CC at Celebrate freedom last year in Texas. It was beyond awsome! The greatest thing was watching my daughter praise God in her on way not just through the music but the testimonies that were shared. Celebrate freedom is an out doors event that over 200,000 come to southfork ranch and worship together. It is an amazing thing to be a part of.
