Wow, I asked Jesus to come into my heart when I was a little girl, and He did! Guess I didn't realize it was false. What did I know, I was just a kid!

LadyEagle, can you provide fo us the clear cut passage, or passages, that tell us we are saved by asking Jesus into our heart?

I have searched every book of the Bible and still cannot find anything that even remotely supports this.

    Thanks.

JW, you are right , the Bible never says to ask Jesus in your heart, however it is an expresion used, and i belive that God accepts it, just like the Sameritan lady at the well, all she said was " give me this water" and Jesus gave her pardon of her sins, I don't think there are exact words to say that deliver us from death (hell), rather it is first the conviction that we are sinners, and helpless to save ourselves(that is where the 10 commandments make a great witnessing tool), then repenting of our sins, and praying to the Lord that We are a sinner, we can not save our self, we belive that God sent His Son to die on the cross for payment of our sins, we belive God brought Jesus back to life, and will bring us back to life (Holy Spirit), and to guid , and direct our lives to serve Him. I'm not debateing you bro, because technicaly your right, just explaning the asking Jesus in my heart thing, as I see it, in my opinion.

Anyone ever read "The Sissy"? I thought the track was kind of neat and don't remember any lies or hatred in it. It was about a tough looking truck driver calling another driver that had a bumper sticker on his truck about God a sissy.

Aloha. Less than a year left in Paradise.

WOW!!! Where did all of you guys come from? Better late than never definitely applies here! Thank You Jesus! I appreciate all of the Jack Chick defenders. No, the dude's not perfect. And I don't agree with EVERYTHING he believes. But the dude is legit. He loves our Lord. He defends the faith. He's not scared to step on a lost persons toes (or another believer's) in an attempt to spread the truth in love. The dude loves people! For that I am thankful. [IMG]

For Dr. Bob - What seminary did Peter, James, John, and the other disciples attend? Seems to me that he was content to use just regular old guys instead of elite, sharp, intellectuals (except when it came to Paul). He's even chosen to use cowboys to spread the gospel. Even house painters and carpenters. I know, I know, this forum is about Jack Chick but I couldn't resist. [IMG]

Hey Rooster. Thanks for the comments and the spirit in which you shared them. We do disagree, but like you I'm not debating and am going to post no more on this side topic in this thread.

My favorite Chick tract though, if memory serves is the one where there was no text just pictures. Is anyone familier with which one that is?

Yea, I think its the one with the little boy with an alcoholic dad, and his dad beat him, and sends him out in the rain to beg for money for his dads alcohol, then he gets cold, and finds a Chick tract, reads it and gets saved, falls asleep in a cardboard box, and latter that night two angels carry him off to heaven. Is that the one you are talking about? It is very touching.

They are an excelent witnessing tool, I use them all the time. It is a great way to get a conversation going into a spiritual direction. And there is a Chick tract for almost any subject, or excuse that people give why they don't want to hear the gosple, you can get a free catalog by contacting Chick puplications, on their web site.

I wasn't comparing the two. I was responding to your view that we should give Jack Chick a free pass for his sins, just because we're sinners ourselves. There's no excuse for Jack Chick's flagrant and continuous sin of bearing false witness. None.
No, anyone who engages in the spreading of falsehoods in the sinful manner that Jack Chick has, and calls his sin good, is a liar and a heretic, for he calls evil good.

Ok I'm half way down page 6 of this thread and I just have to say something. Please forgive me if I say something that someone else has said.

First thank you for showing me what Chick Tracts really are. While I did not agree on the KJV only and the Christian Rock stance they take, I thought that they were pretty good tracts and have used them in the past. May the Lord forgive for that and anyone else who has read them because of me.

I have seen first hand what happens when someone lies in the name of relgion. Go to http://www.exmormon.org/boards/w-agora/index.php?site=exmobb&bn=exmobb_recovery and see for yourself what happens. Anyone who lies while trying to bring some one to Christ is opening that person that they are witnessing to, to this kind of bitterness against all things related to God.

The Truth can stand on it's own. There is no need to lie. The end does not justify the means.

They got personal lessons from God Himself!
We know nothing about their formal educational background. Worth mentioning however is that all of the people I know who can read Koine Greek all agree that James has a better grasp of written Koine Greek than Paul.

    Mioque,

Do you honestly expect the catholics to write something agreeing with tracts that expose them?
Of course they are going to try to accuse the facts of being false, and sadly too many Christians are falling for Rome's lies. I have posted stuff straight out of catechism books and had catholics argue with me on what I posted, usually be posting from a catholic book that contradicted the one I had.

When it comes to exposing the unholf and aopstate RCC, Jack Chick is right on the money.

So again I ask, where are the falsehoods?

I apologize if I wasn't clear. I wasn't trying to imply that natters is catholic, as I don't know what his beleifs are, but the sources he posted the links for, if I read is post right, were to catholic web pages.
