    rsr,

Interesting article but not entirely accurate. My wife is of Iraqi descent. Her family were Christians there for hundreds of years. Her Grandparents were married in Baghdad. The writer leaves out one very important 20th century event. Between 1915 to 1922 there occurred what is called the hidden or Assyrian holocaust, where over 2,000,000 Assyrian and Greek Christians (i.e. the massacre at Smyrna) were slaughtered by Islamic forces. My wife's Grandfather was himself machine gunned into a ditch.

Go to Google or Yahoo and put in the phrase Assyrian holocaust to learn more.

You can go here to learn more: http://www.atour.com/holocaust/

The Islamic apologists work hard to suppress this history. In fact here is an article where a Turkish priest was arrested by the "democratic" Turkish government for simply stating this tragedy had happened. You see the truth is a crime in those countries. http://www.assyrien.de/english/turkey_priest_holocaust.htm

Christians would appear to be tolerated by Saddam Hussainin Iraq, I wonder though when he is overthrown how they will cope with what may be a more fundamentalist regime in Iraq?
