After this long court battle MN finally counted the last ballots to be accepted that were previously rejected. Franken ended up with more votes.

Cheerleading... And I'm sure Franken is the only politician with a foul mouth.

I have no preference in that race since I think we loose with either candidate. When Coleman was in office he had a 38% approval and 58% disapproval rating. Only reason the election is close is because of the Independent that ran. The independent got 42 of these votes.

I just don't like seeing the people of MN not represented per the constitution and I am totally against elections being decided in courts. The right to vote is one of few rights we still have. That right is negated when judges decide elections.

I say count every vote that shows clear intent and whoever has the most votes win...

LB, some folks holler that every vote should count...unless their guy loses, then they have all sorts of excuses to try to negate the will of the people.

Yep, you got that right... Now they told Gore to suck it up and accept it but they want Coleman to string this thing out as long as possible just so there is one less Democrat in the congress.

We'll see what happens in NY-20. The Democrat already vowed to take that one to court so lets see if they are just as supportive of him.

Don't you think the people from MN deserve to have the representation they elected represent them in the Senate? You are normally a strict constitutionalist, why aren't you outraged by what is happening in MN?

Where in the constitution does it say courts should decide elections?

OK, you say, "Let every vote count."

Who decides what is a vote? You? Your pet ferret? Stuart Smalley? Norm Coleman's agent? Al Franken's Penthouse readers? Who?

You do realize that Bush beat Gore in Florida, don't you? You do realize that all the votes were counted in Florida and Gore lost, don't you?

You do realize that after the recount of the recount of the recount was stopped by the SCOTUS, various news agencies again recounted all the votes in Florida and....Yes, oh Yes....Bush had the most votes!!!!!

    GET OVER IT!!!

    peace to you:praying:

The will of the people?! The people had absolutely nothing to do with it. It is the will of God to have a foul mouthed, would be political comedian in the US Senate.

    NOT!

Franken will fit right in with the rest of the leftist comedians in the Senate. They deserve him. Perhaps then the people will wake up and recognize what a joke Obama and the democrat Congress is.

The cry should not be "Let every vote count." but allow only those to vote who are legally entitled.

    1. Make English the official language of the nation.

    2. Print ballots only in the English language.

    3. Eliminate motor voter registration or any registration outside an approved location such as a courthouse.

    4. Require all those who register to vote be able to read and write English.

    5. Require positive identification and proof of citizenship for all who register to vote.

    6. Require positive identification and proof of registration for all who vote.

    7. Develop as nearly as possible, recognizing that some people will steal votes, a system to ensure the accuracy of the vote count. Also keep a paper trail.

    8. Eliminate the absentee vote in Federal elections unless it is physically impossible [from illness] for one to get to the polling place. States have the right to vote as they please as long as they do not deny an eligible voter the right.

That's not entirely true, the recount was never completed and many ballots were falsely rejected because of hanging chads etc... That was the dispute of that election.

Keep in mind, I voted for Bush in that election but I still thought that Florida situation was not fair.

The election officials. That is their job. There is a preset list of rules to determine a valid vs invalid ballot. All ballots meeting the valid criteria should be counted.

Understand Coleman's objection is that officials in each precinct have different interpretation of the rules which mean they have their own criteria of valid vs invalid ballots. The problem is that is not limited to MN. That's what happens in every precinct in the nation. We all trust the officials to do a good unbiased job of counting the votes.

So either you can prove the election official didn't do a good job or there is no dispute. Of all the ballots he took to court, 400 were added to the count and several of those were already counted. How many more courts need to look at these ballots before he's satisfied?

We all know this is just eh GOP keeping one less democratic vote in the Senate. No one thinks Coleman will win in the end but the longer they can keep this tied up in court the longer they have one less democrat in the Senate. This is why I object to courts deciding elections. It is the election officials job to determine valid vs invalid ballots and not a judge.

Wrong, it was not that the recount was not completed, it was that the third recount was not completed. And it was not only about hanging chads but also about dimpled chads. They were working to create votes in their favor where there was none in these Democrat counties all the while sounding out their rallying cry "every vote should count!" and at the same time hypocritically working to stop the everseas votes from our troops. When you will not play by the rules the court has to step in. If you do not like courts to step in tell your libbie buddies to stop filing.
