Hey Dan! I don't think we've met - it's very nice to meet you!

OK - it's hot here. It's 85 degrees at 9 AM and I look outside and see haze which means the humidity is here big time. We don't have central air in our house - just 3 units through the walls and 1 in the window but between the 4, we can keep the house bearable. I hate the heat of summer - I can't take it. Bleck!!

My teens were happy last night because a friend of theirs came back to visit and help out with the MiniDOZ camp (DOZ is a tambourine worship group we have at church and each summer we do a camp for the little ones to learn a few songs and learn the concept behind DOZ - oh and DOZ stands for Daughters of Zion) and she staying with us for a few days. The girls must have been up late last night because my early riser is still asleep. LOL! Today we'll probably go to the pool and just hang out a bit.

I need to go food shopping for our vacation that we're leaving on this Saturday. I want to get the boat loaded and ready as early as possible so we can leave first thing in the morning. I figured I could get a lot of the provisioning done now - and just get the perishables on Friday. We may even sleep on the boat on Friday night so I need to be sure we're set! It's a lot of work because we most probably will stay anchored out the entire week and just go ashore here and there - but all of our food needs to come with us from home. We TRY to not go food shopping if we don't need to because it's tough to get to grocery stores and carry it all to the boat.

So, have a wonderful day everyone! OH - if you guys could think to pray for the woman who owns the horse I ride. She had a baby 2 weeks ago at 27 weeks - he was just 1 lb. 5 oz. and he hasn't gained any weight and he's having some heart problems. She had to have an emergency c-section and still can't drive and her DH had to have two wisdom teeth extracted yesterday because his entire face swelled from them getting infected. They're having a rough go of it, poor things! So if you could think to pray for Cheryl and Ross and their baby (I THINK his name is going to be Charles). Thanks!

annsni - nice to know that there are other New Yorkers on the Board - don't tell anyone though - that Long Island and Western New York are as different as night and day - some think as different as two different countries.

We too - are getting prepared for a few days of R&R - planning on leaving tomorrow for a few days with daughter #2 - her husband and child in Vermont. Only son - with wife and four children plan to be there also.

Everyone have a few good days - and I'll see you all next week - unless I get a chance to post while in VT.

Have a great time! VT should be beautiful at this time of year - and much cooler than we're having now!

You're so right that Long Island and Western NY are so different. Then again, Long Island is so different than a LOT of the US. LOL! We got back last week from being in the Adirondacks and THAT was even way different than here. But I have to say, we live in a nice area of Long Island - the North Shore and it's more of a boating/water/beach community. It's a nice place

Well, today is getting ready for our trip. I'm going to go food shopping in a few minutes then I have a meeting at church. After that, I'll run to Costco to get the meat for the trip and I'll come home to do more laundry. I THINK we're going to do burgers for dinner - but then again, with the way it's looking outside, I just may end up picking up a rotisserie chicken from Costco. Oh yeah! I have to remember to check on the horses later too. Hmm - busy day!

    Good Morning Everyone!

We're kinda sorta getting back to a regular routine in this house. Maybe. I'm hoping I can keep my back from going out again as that has caused all sorts of scheduling problems. It's a sad state of affairs when Mom can't move.

Last week my husband's neices came and stayed the week with my inlaws. Of course they had to come play with the cousins, so they were here a good part of the week. Jenna had a blast! One cousin is just older than her and the other is just younger. She was entertained for the whole week!

This week we've been busy getting Chris enrolled in his homeschool cover and setting up a school routine. We are starting early to accomodate for migraine season that usually starts about October.

Tomorrow will be a doc visit in B'ham for Chris. Hmmm, I may just be fooling myself into thinking that my schedule is settling down.

    Good afternoon all,
It has been a busy couple of days here. We had some bad storms come through night before last and yesterday. Everything that hadn't had water standing does now! There are some places that are flooded badly. The neices and nephews are all in VBS this week since soccer camp is next week. They seem to be having a good time.
It is 86 now and the high is supposed to be 91. The heat index is supposed to get up to 107! Summer has finally hit.
I may be starting my new job as early as tommorrow. I am really excited. I am five minutes from home and with the gas prices going up here again it is much better than the half hour drive that my sis and her hubby have. I am going to be working at a daycare and at the moment I have three kids in my class. They are all right around a year old. They are all such sweeties! Well, I had better go, I need to grab some lunch and get some house cleaning done. Y'all have a blessed day!

MK, you've just convinced yourself that your schedule has changed. It hasn't...and boy oh boy, it's coming back the same in just a few short weeks! HA! ;)

    Thanks for remembering PJ! :saint:

    Good evening all,

I just got back from church and thought I would give y'all a praise report.

The doctor got all the cancer on my temple! PTL!

He also did an abrasion on my nose, to get rid of a bump, where he removed a cancer almost a year ago.

I look real 'cute' with a large pressure bandage on my nose as well as my left temple.

It has been a long day, but a good day, and I'm heading to bed.

    Pleasant dreams all! :godisgood:

    Good Morning Everyone!

Sue, I have a new set of magic markers if'n you want me to add a little color to your bandages. :D PTL, on the doc getting rid of that nasty cancer.

I gotta head over to B'ham with Chris for a gasterointerologist appointment this morning. Hopefully we'll find out what the odd looking stuff on his esophogus is today and what they plan on doing about it. He's been much better this last month, though I'm afraid to celebrate yet.

It's hot, humid and itchy outside. Gnats, not mosquitos, are the problem. We got rain, we got bugs. Yuck!

    Ya'll have a good day!

:godisgood: I'm so glad that all is well Sue! You'll heal up fast (put vitamin E on that as soon as you can - my orthopedic surgeon swears by it) and you'll be good as new.

MK - I pray that the doctor's appointment goes well!

Praise the Lord - the heat broke! It's 73 degrees and DRY! NO humidity! It's so lovely outside and the entire house is wide open - a GREAT day to get ready for the boat trip! I did a lot of the grocery shopping and spent $500 between the grocery store and Costco - YIKES! But then again, the boat has NOTHING on board so I'm restocking toiletries, staples and beverages (we can carry water in our water tanks but it's not good enough to drink, so I bring a gallon of bottled water a day with some extra - plus smaller drink bottles of water, soda, juice, gatorade and the like. We are also gone a week with no grocery store trips so I stock up the freezer and fridge for the whole time.

Now today, I'm doing laundry and I'm starting to pack up clothing so we can hopefully load the boat tonight and tomorrow. I pack up the littles' outfits in gallon sized baggies - one outfit with undies in it for each day - so that they can find clothing easily AND it keeps it all clean and tidy. I've washed all the towels, sheets and such too - so we're going to be ready! The only issue we have is our small inflatable dinghy's engine conked out on us and that's our lifeline because we don't go to marinas (too expensive) and need a way to get from the anchored boat to shore. So that means spending a few thousand on a new one. :( But it's needed and will save us about $10,000 over the life of the engine because of how expensive marinas are (about $170 - 230 a night for our boat).

Later on today I have a VBS meeting - we're coming along on that - and then the girls have their MiniDOZ camp again (goes through tomorrow). I'll post some pics of that when I get it up - it's so cute to see 99 little girls learning how to worship the Lord through music and movement. When I watch them on Friday night, I think of how it must have been in the Old Testament when the women danced to the Lord. :)

Well, have a wonderful day everyone! The washer just stopped so must move it over!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 63 here and sunny, headed for a high of 68 today.

Sue: Glad to hear the good news. If anybody says anything about your medical dressings just tell them that you're dressed as your favorite female Biblical character.

Cuz: How did Chris' exam come out?

We had a great week touring the many lighthouses around the Michigan shoreline. Some of their histories are just incredible.

Now comes the least enjoyable part of the trip - cleaning out the RV, doing laundry, putting things away.

I brought in Waffles and Eggs, Sausage Gravy & Biscuits, Sausage and Bacon, and Strawberry Bread. Enjoy.

We have more then enough to keep us busy all day today.

    Good Morning!

    Thanks for breakfast Rob!

It's raining, it's pouring! Yay! Course Jenna is not happy cause I had told her we'd go to the skate park today so she could try out her new skateboard. But I won't have to water the grass or mow! :D

Chris' appointment went well yesterday. We decided to continue what we were already doing since he has been much better the last few weeks and then get seen again in November.

Sometime today I have to head off to the grocery store. The kids say they are starving.

    Ya'll have a good day!

A warm hello to everyone from Schroon Lake, NY. from the heart of the Adirondack Mountains! Lenke and I are enjoying a week of Bible Conference at Word of Life. Trouble is, the week went so fast. This is our last full day and tomorrow morning we will be heading back to the BIG Apple. The Lord be with you all! :type:

WOW B - I haven't been to Word of Life since I was a teen! I hope you had a wonderful time and a safe trip home.

Well, we're sailing out today for our one week vacation. We'll be back in a week - Bob has to lead worship on the 22nd, so we need to be home. Pray for safety and good weather and that we all have a time of rest, relaxation and rejuvination - we've all felt really overwhelmed and burned out recently.

Have a great week all! I MAY stop in if I can. We can sometimes find Wi-Fi and I'm sure it's going to be easier and easier as the years go on. If I find any connection, I'll check in. :D

Yippee! I got to finally meet a BB poster in person!!!

BibleBelievingBill came through Lincoln on his way to a meeting in Springfield and we all ate supper at Bonanza and he went to our church with us tonight.

He is SO nice!!! Not that I expected him not to be. LOL

We took a couple of pictures. I sure miss our BB Photo Album!

I wish he and Jeanne lived closer so we could fellowship. His son is about the same age as Brent too.

    I have another praise report!

Brent got back from Triple § Christian Ranch (in Arkansas) Friday night and, while at camp, he surrendered to preach! PTL!

It has been a busy week and an even busier Sunday.

I didn't get to bed until 3:00 a.m. this morning and got up at 6:00 a.m. so we could drive to Mt. Pulaski Christian Church (about 20 minutes from Lincoln) for their 8:15 service to hear The Ball Brothers sing (I taught them in various church classes from the time they were born until they moved to Georgia late in their teens). We stayed for the service, of course. Then came back to Lincoln in time for SS and church at our church.

Then we attended the potluck that we have every 3rd Sunday, caught a quick nap, took Bill out to Bonanza for supper and went back to church tonight.

I'm tired! I'm going to get into my nightie and relax for a bit before going to bed. Next week is another busy week...

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Good evening, friends!

Our daughter, Julie, and her husband were here with us all last week and we enjoyed them so much! It is wonderful having Julie around because she knows exactly how I keep house and she is observant enough to know just how to help. Wonderful daughter!

Scott and his bride are in Kauai on their honeymoon. God bless them!

Yesterday one of our hens who has been sitting on a clutch of 13 eggs showed up with a chick peeping out from under her wing. But no more today, so I lifted her up off the nest, protesting violently, and found four more had hatched and she had accidently smothered them! So we left her and her one live chick in their own private area and removed the eight remaining eggs which are now under a heat lamp in a half bath. One of Gina's girls says she thought she heard some pecking at the shell, but so far nothing. I told the girls I would keep the eggs until Tuesday and then any that had not hatched had to be thrown away. Chickens all hatch within 48 hours of each other, so I am not too hopeful at this point as I am not seeing any signs of life from these eight eggs. We had a horrid day of nasty heat in the middle of last week and if the hen did not fan her eggs a bit, they probably overheated and died. I for sure don't want to crack any open and find out!

But we'll see by morning or tomorrow afternoon if there are any more live chicks. We had to give away the papa rooster as he was tearing up the hens' backs so badly during mating some of them were bleeding. All of them have massive bare patches where he pulled out their feathers. So he's gone.

All else is fine. Never boring. Very busy. Our video on the Christmas Star is finished and will go up on sale at our website within the week. We are very pleased with it.

I'm yawning at only 9 p.m. But, then, I get up about five or five-thirty these mornings.

God bless you all. I'll try to be here more often and keep you all in prayer.

    Helen

    Good Morning Everyone!

Hey Helen! It's good to know ya'll are still going strong!

Sue, sounds like ya'll have had a good week too.

This starts what I hope will be Chris' first full week of homeschooling. Meaning I hope we can get on an actual schedule! Public school starts back Aug 13. I have to have some sort of scedule in place by then or I'll go nuts trying to keep up with who's doing what, when!

Today, I guess will be school, a bit of housekeeping, sewing and finding something I can do exercise wise since I can't do karate. Since I hurt my back I haven't accomplished a thing EXCEPT, gaining 15 pounds. :tonofbricks:

    That can't keep up!

I guess I better get up from this computer and get dressed or it'll be another 5 pounds before dark!
