WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO THE...

The only "RULE" here is NO fussin' - NO fightin' - NO feudin'!

I will try to be here to serve you; but if not, feel free to help yourself.

First one in every morning puts the coffee and tea on, last one out at night turns the lights off...

We serve donuts, cinnamon toast (dry toast available upon request), crumpets, bagels, scones, croissants, brioche rolls, donuts, yogurt, salads, light lunches, popsicles, ice cream, homemade cookies, homemade cakes, homemade pies, and homemade jams.

We also serve coffee (with/without caffeine), hot chocolate, hot tea, iced tea, fresh squeezed lemonade and orange juice, cappuccino, Mountain Dew, DP, DDP, Coke, Pepsi, milk, milkshakes, Kool-Aid, and Carb Options.

If you don't see your drink or food of choice...just ask, we will do our best to stock it for you!

Our aim is to please...come and sit a spell, enjoy the fellowship and come back often!

As Christians, we are ALL on common ground...

    Good Morning Everybody,

Tanya: Glad to hear your appt. went well. One question though, how on earth did you my Cuz to sit still for that length of time? Did they have restraints on the chairs in the waiting room?

Brenda and I are seriously looking at a new house that is about 10 miles east of where we now live. It's a farmhouse, built in 1900, completely remodeled with modern appliances in the kitchen[they come with the house, too], 4 bedrooms with the capability of 5, fireplace in the living room, central air, 1 acre of land, detached 2 1/2 car garage, fenced backyard, and three out buildings.

Helen: I think my "cook's block" is starting to crumble. Came up with some ideas for Thanksgiving dinner last night.

Hey Cuz, Just want you to know that reading your posts is exhasting. I don't know how you do all you do and do it well.

Has anybody heard from Ann? Watching the weather that is off the coast of Long Island is scary. Praying for you Sis. :praying:

I brought in Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon, Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, and Home Fries. Enjoy.

Time to get some yard work done. Our weather forecast for Monday is a rain/snow mix, and for Tuesday it's a possibility of snow flurries.

Aww Rob - Thanks for thinking of me! I'm fine - working at church right now getting the sermon ready (I am just downloading some graphics so I have a few seconds - LOL). We're doing well - it's windy but no more than about 25 knots right now. We're about 1/3 of the way out on the island from NYC and we're not due to get as badly hit as the East End would. But the boats are out of the water and we're all set for the day. We've got a party to drop the girls off at and then the little ones have swimming lessons. After 4:30, we'll be home and safe and sound. :D

I'm kind of mad, though. We got the dinghy last night and in putting it on the roof of the minivan, the hard back of the boat hit my windshield right at the gasket and broke it. So now I need a new windshield. :( I'll do that this next week sometime - it's a busy week but I'll find some time to do it somewhere. I hate things like this!!

Oh - and if you guys could pray for Bob. He went on the boat on Thursday and twisted his knee. Unfortunately, it was the knee with no ACL (it was torn and removed 10 years ago), and he can't bend it more than about 40 degrees now. I'll speak to my orthopedic surgeon friend (who did my hand) and make an appointment for Monday. SIGH - Poor guy is a mess with allergies and eczema and now this. :( So if you could pray that he'll heal quickly and easily from this, we'd appreciate it.

    Saturday Mornings

Hi y'all - stretching and yawning, trying to get these old bones moving but, it's cold. Just 21 degrees, car covered in ice, clear blue skies and the sun has just made it over the hills to the east. We'll get up to high 60's today around 2:30 to 3:00pm and temperatures will drop into the mid 40's again by 7:00pm. But, that's life here on the 'high desert' in northwestern Nevada.

Got the decaf brewing 'cuz that's all DW drinks. Now to figure out which chores I can tackle and complete without having to be out in the cold too early. It'll be noon before we can do much outside. Probably adding the Sta-Bil to the mower, generator and weed cutter is a good idea since they're going to sit now for the winter and that keeps the gas from forming 'gel' and plugging up the carbuerator.

Maybe I'll turn on the ham radio and tune around and see if someone's out there wanting to chat.... :)

    Good morning, all!

Wondering when you would start a new thread, Sue! How are you doing?

Ann, did you read the suggestion about Absorbine jr for Whirl's leg? As a 'knee' survivor please know that I totally understand Bob's frustration and will be keeping him in my prayers.

FoG -- ok, so spill. What are you thinking about for Thanksgiving dinner?

Choctawman -- I lived in high desert in Lancaster, California for a few years in my early twenties. You couldn't PAY me to go back! I LIKE living where it's green! But I certainly wish you the best...!

Foggy to cloudy today and chilly. Barry's interview stuff was postponed until Monday, and that's fine. Today is my day to change beds and do all kinds of basic cleaning for the coming week. So I'm off and away...

    God bless you all.

    Good Mor---oops!-Afternoon Everyone!

Supperwoman is here! Speaking of which.....

Helen! Why would you even attempt making homemade pie crust when Pillsbury makes perfect ones that you can find in the refridgerated goods section of your local grocery? You just unroll them into your pie pan and BAM! Perfect piecrust!

I still have no idea who's going to show for T-day. Until I can figure that out I can't really plan for it. We'll follow our usual menu though I'm sure. Turkey, chicken and dressing, garlic mashed potatos, mac and cheese, broccoli, green beans, corn on the cob, sliced tomato, and nice things to with like gravy, cranberry sauce and fresh homemade bread. Dessert gets split among us all. T will make cheesecake, Chris will make pumpkin pie, Cass and Jenna will make cookies and I usually bake a cake of some sort. I just need to figure out how much to cook.

Helen, we haven't gotten a puppy yet. Notice the yet. One will come along and I have open ended permission from T to get one that strikes my fancy. :) I want a nice german shepard or german shepard mix.

Cuz, you got it wrong. It wasn't Tanya trying to keep me still, it was me trying to keep Tanya still. Though I felt her frustration when the doc said at 2 that he was giving her something for her head ache and then she could go home in "a little while" and then didn't come back around until almost 4, just after she told them she was leaving in 10 minutes.

The house sounds good, Cuz. But if it has an upstairs, be sure to walk UP them several times. The thing I regret most about this house is the upstairs. The stairs are hard wood. Really, really hardwood. Hurts my knees to go up there.

I have a gigantic headache this morning, so I'm off to finish chores and go to the skatepark for a while with the kids. I'll rest there.

    See ya later!

I did and forgot to respond! The issue for him is not only the lower leg but the hock and hip. :( So that would be QUITE the thing to wrap!! So for now, it's just the 10 minute solid forward walk every time he's ridden. He really does work it out - so that's good - for now.

Well, this storm was a wash! Seriously - we had a little drizzle and some wind but NOTHING like we could have gotten. But then again, I'm not on the boat. LOL! Nantucket had 50+ knot winds and 20 foot seas. I love my house! LOL!

    Evening all,

My computer went into the shop Thursday night. They were supposed to have it fixed Friday morning.

Yesterday afternoon I got a rental because they said I wouldn't get mine back until sometime next week.

I really hate trying to find my way around on a new computer...especially one I'll only have for a few days!

Thanksgiving is just going to be us three and possibly Brent's mom (Shawna). I'm not sure what she has planned. My two oldest (Bob and Laurie) and their families are going to Texas for a few days over Thanksgiving.

Looks like that's what we'll have for Christmas too since it is so far for Bob to drive and he has so many responsibilities at the college.

I am going to make it an early night. I have been moving furniture and painting and my get up and go just got up and went!

I had my blood work and EKG done this week and have four different appointments set up next week for tests or follow-ups. It's going to be a busy week...

    Pleasant dreams to all!

    Good Morning Everybody,

No church fo us this morning, Brenda has Bronchitis and on breathing treatments.

Helen: How's this sound for Thanksgiving?: Glazed Ham, Mustard-Garlic & Herb Roasted Turkey Breast, Thyme-Scented Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Onions, Mashed Potatoes and Giblet Gravy, Cheddar Biscuits, Green Beans with Maple-Bacon Dressing, Cornbread, Bacon and Sage Dressing, Stuffed Squash with Black Beans, Chocolate-Cherry Bread Pudding, Peach-Cranberry Cobbler with Cornbread Biscuits.

Cuz: We made an offer on the house yesterday, now we're praying that the owners accept our offer. :praying: The steps to the second floor are hardwood also, I was up and down them several times yesterday and I think we'll be okay. One nice thing about this house is that all the kitchen appliances are new and come with the house.

Ann: Glad you're safe and sound. Watching the weather reports yesterday about the storm going up the east coast and they showed Long Island, and it ws getting hammered.

The bottom is supposed to fall out of our weather starting tonight. Possible Rain-Snow mix tomorrow, and possible snow showers for Tuesday.

Have to go figure out what we're having for dinner today.

    Good morning all,

I'm at home this morning with my feet propped up. Both legs are very swollen. It feels like I'm walking on wooden pegs!

I was up all last night so I'm going to lay down on the couch until the guys get home from church.

    Have a great day!

I'm here just for a quick cup of tea because we have to run my van up to the auto glass place for a new windshield. When we took home the dinghy on Friday and it turns out that it must have clunked on the windshield and cracked the corner - which has now traveled half way across the windshield. So I get new glass. Thank heavens for insurance!

After that, it's a doctor's appointment, home to do laundry and dishes then riding this afternoon. We'll see how it goes with the time change. Bleck!!

Oh - very funny. We had dinner with some people we know from the yacht club last night and we were talking about Bob's allergies. The one guy told us something guaranteed to work (so he says). March and hum. He said that allergies are a disconnect between the left and right brain so that when you march and hum, you connect the two and the allergies go away. Have you guys heard any good "tricks" to help your health?

Regular checkups at the doctors. LOL

Speaking of which, if I don't get off of here, I'll be late for my doctor's appointment this morning.

I have two more Thursday and another one Friday (all with different doctors off course).

Hoping to get my own computer back today. I have none of my email addresses or anything on this one!

    Y'all have a great day!

    Good evening all,
All you sick people are in my prayers and I hope that you all get better really soon!
The cold front we where expecting has hit and wouldn't you know it-youngest nephew had his last little league football game tonight. I sat in the truck and kept the baby! I knew that there was a good reason I left my jacket at home this morning! We have a forecast high of 64 for tommorrow. Oh well, it must get cold sometime... I guess now is okay! I had better go, the nephew and two girls are here for the week unless things change because their dad is in the hospital with a really bad staff infection. He isn't responding to any of the antibiotics. Anyway, the older two need showers and put to bed.
    Y'all have a good day!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good morning all,

The results from my blood work and EKG were not good and somewhat of a shock.

I am scheduled for even more tests now.

I won't bore you with details here, but I've posted my maladies in the WPF and asked for prayer.

It is 32º here with a windchill of 25º heading for a high of only 48º.

We are still working on the outside of the house, but it's almost finished!!! We have one short gable in the back to do soffets and fascia, then put up the gutters. Maybe I can get some help with the inside when the outside is done...

I'm praying for all the concerns here.

My computer won't be ready until Friday, so if any of you are missing my emails, it's because I don't have any addy's on this rental computer!

    HAGD!
