I just returned from the vet. Took Muffin, not me [IMG]

He is just an allergic dog! Gave him a shot, gave him some meds $60.00 this trip and the vet wants to put him on some new meds that should cure the allergy not just the symptoms. That will be $85.00 per month. They say this breed was bred for nobility, Must have been very rich nobility. :(

I have to remember that he is the most precious dog that I have ever had. He is very loyal and faithful. He is a good watchdog and a wonderful companion.

Must go cook supper. Hope you have a great evening and weekend.

It's a real blessing Cindi. I checked in and was checked back out of the building within 20 mins! My only concern is the dose of Amoxicillin she gave me for strep. 1000 mg twice a day. The pharmacist says that's a common dose but it always tears up my tummy even on lower doses.

Since I'm nicely allergic to penicillin I don't have that problem, but the new 3 day Zithromax kills me.

Can you split the tablet in half and take it every six hours instead. That might help it to not bother you instead. Don't split it if it is a capsule.

It's 2 500 mg capsules twice a day. She said this causes less stomach upset taken this way. I get diarrhea from it after a week or so. Back two years ago I got really sick but I'd had to take almost a months worth of 3 different antibiotics for an abscessed tooth.

    I'm allergic to sulfa drugs.

I've already started with the acidophilus chewables and will get some yogurt in the morning.

Man, I'm so glad I brought up fruitcake. [IMG] (No, I don't mean I ate it and brought it up; I'm talking about the subject, not the individual fruitcake)

Antibiotics are of the devil (my wife told my to type that). But thank God for allopathic medicine when we need it! Sure beats dying! We are still praying for the sicko's in the BB family.

Why thank you Dr. Bob I need all the prayer your willing to part with. :D I knew someone was prayin for me cuz I been feelin awful guilty about not visiting with guys up here in such a long time. I first suspected it was Dan though I can always tell when he's using that "give em no rest nor peace" prayer of his, it has that certian kinda vibe to it when your on the receiving end of it like I have been. [IMG]

I decided to hang up my tin foil hat for the winter at least it's to cold out for all that up here and the rain freezes to it. It's just uncomfortable.

    Missed ya all.

    Good morning all:

I had a very short and restless night and am up to fold, band, and bag the papers (supposed to rain).

I will check in when I get back (I'm still only allowed to drive - not get out of the car and throw).

Brent has a basketball game this morning but, of course, I'm not allowed to go to that either. :(

This is getting boring. How long does it take to get over pneumonia anyway???

    CYAL,

Rainy here today too! It really poured here last night. Creek behind our house is roaring. I am going to my daughter's volleyball tournament this afternoon. I am so glad it's inside. I hope everyone feels better soon.

Sue says, "How long does it take to get over pneumonia anyway???"

In the hospital(where you should be)---3-4 days with strong antibiotics(more than the sissyfied Amoxocylin you can get from the pharmacy) and breathing treatments to help expand the lungs!

    At home . . .?????????????????

    Morning Blackbird:

I am taking 200mg of Doxycycline a day right now. I just finished 5 days of Zithromax and 7 days of Prednisone. I have been taking Rx cough medicine for almost two weeks now. Dr. also gave me a steroid shot that is supposed to work with the antibiotic to expand my lungs.

I probably should be in the hospital, but I have Brent to take care of. I have only been going out once a day for 2 hours (to drive Brent around while he throws the papers).

I start coughing as soon as I hit the fresh air! Especially in the damp weather at 4 in the morning.

I have had Bronchitis for almost 2 weeks and the pneumonia was present when I had my X-ray Monday (6 days ago), but the doctor didn't spot it and the radiologist didn't read it until Thursday.

I would probably be over it by now if they had caught it sooner and if I could stay inside all the time - but there is no one else to do the papers.

I can't go back to 'the corner' until after the 1st of the year...been off 2 weeks already.

Going to take a nap now while Brent is at his basketball game.

    P.S.
Blackbird: Let me know if you got your box of Christmas 'goodies'. It should have been there a week or so ago...

Welcome "whatever"! Everything is FREE here. I'm glad you made it down this far and I hope you'll become a regular!

I have been napping, on and off, in the recliner all morning. I think I'm gonna do the same for the rest of the afternoon and evening. I don't have to leave the house again until Monday afternoon, so hoping I'll be all well by then!

    Cruising,

I tried taking a nap and Nick startled me awake when the mail lady delivered a package. I tripped over my own feet trying to jump up from the sofa! He's done that to me 2 days in a row!

Tonight is our babysitting night at church. We're expecting 10-20 children. I'm prepared for 20. We made up little goodie bags with a party favor toy and lots of treats. I've got Bingo, Pin the Nose on Frosty, Pin Zacchaeus in the Tree, lots of holiday pictures to color, Play-Doh, Holiday movies to watch and the room is already filled with toys and books. Each family is supposed to pay Jim and myself what they would have paid a sitter. Praying it's a nice amount. We're doing this to earn Christmas money for Nick's presents.

So, it's getting COLD in Georgia! Wish we'd get a foot of snow AFTER the party tho! [IMG]

    Hello all.

We've had a busy day here. Had to finish Christmas shopping. Son had a birthday party. that kind of thing. All this running around wears me out! I think we're in for the night now. I have to wrap some of the presents tonight. T's orders. He wants to see presents under the tree.

Diane, your snowman looks as cold as I feel. It has been freezing here all day. The wind blows right through you. It shouldn't be this cold unless it is going to snow. This IS Alabama after all.

Just checking in to say good night.

Hubby rented some Christmas movies for Brent and I to watch and I am going to sit in the recliner and crochet and watch them! Hopefully, I will be able to nod off every once in awhile without my mouth falling open...

    Pleasant dreams all!

Well we had a busy day. My husband and I went to our daughter's volleyball tournament. They took second place. After that we went out to eat. Then we took our daughter Christmas shopping so she could pick up a couple of gifts. Finally got home around 8:00p.m. So tired. I have been going all day. Going to hit the bed now. Everyone have a safe and happy weekend.

Well we just got in from keeping 14 (counting our Nick) for the Sunday School class party. One family didn't offer to pay us and one will pay us in the morning but we made $100. tonight already! We got there at 6:00 and the party started at 6:30. We stood and talked with one family about 15 mins. so it was less than 3 hours... but LONG hours. One 13 month old cried for what seemed like hours but ended up being about 20 mins. I got out the Goldfish and he turned into Mr. Personality! What a blessing this night was for us! I had hoped for about that much money so we could buy Nick some Christmas things. [IMG]

It's freezing rain outside! Hope we can get to church tomorrow. We have calcium chloride for our steep driveway but many won't be able to make it if it's bad out.
