You have to understand that there's "snowed in," and there's "SNOWED IN." Around here, a snowstorm that truly shut things down is a rare occurance. So most of the time the excitement is for nothing.

Snowed in means there is so much snow you can't get to the store on the snowmobile. We had 2 1/2 feet Sunday - Tuesday and flurries not worth mentioning since. 6 inches is a light dusting. Like they say on the local TV station: It's Buffalo. It snows. Deal with it.

We might miss out on the "big one" coming. Probably get a foot or so of lake effect.

OK,OK I get it. Actually they do that here too. All it takes is a mention of a possibility of some light snow & all the grocery stores are flooded, with ALL age types! My wife has the same panic but so far in our humble home she has given in to my wisdom, which is....Honey! this is the piedmont..not Philly, or New York,....or even Canada!! Sides we live IN town, If we had a repeat of the blizzard of 93 I can walk the mile or so to the grocery store...& yes they would be open!

Oh my, I wish we would get snowed in! We need moisture. We were so excited that it might rain or snow last night that I think we were up every hour to see if it was raining or snowing. NOTHING! And more fires today and these were in our County, south of us, but with a north wind, we were okay, but there is a large field with cedar trees north of us. The State has been very serious about enforcing the burning ban and have been issuing fines for any burning. I think that has helped, but we still have very high winds and low humidity.

We really need to clean out our freezer. A few years ago, I was snowed or iced in for two weeks. It was wonderful. First time that I got to really stay at home. The only thing that I ran out of was Coca-Cola and my dear son brought me some. Well he was on his way to work anyway. [IMG]

I think we are going to get some of that cold air from Canada.

Hope you all have a great evening and weekend.

Why is it Canada gets blamed for your cold and we get our heavy snowstorms from the Texas panhandle, the midwest and Wisconsin is colder than us?

    Cheers,

    Jim

We also blame Canada for acid rain, Alberta clippers and my mother-in-law. I'll keep the first two.
