For quoting a member who was edited to edit out their insults, or they were banned.

    See reason of edit below.

Are you asking as to whether we have edited our comments ourselves? Or are you asking if a Mod came in and had to edit what we have posted?

Best I can remember, I've never had my posts edited. I've edited a few myself (spelling errors, etc.). Does that count?

From the choices listed, I think the editing would have been done by a Moderator.

Joe will let us know for sure when he comes back around, I'm sure.:wavey:

Lack of honesty should be a choice, because not too many people have voted

I only voted "lack of grace" due to a moderator deeming a post as a personal attack, when in actuality it was the viewpoint attacked. This happens quite often here.

I agree the mods/admins get it wrong sometimes though they are all good people imo. All do a good job.

Only a few times after an edit "a little comment was added" which was untrue so it made for an awkward situation at first. I learned people know the truth, and when posts are edited falsely, everyone knows. They even know the Admin/Mods personalities so I assume they know mine too (scary ) Twice when I pm'd them to clarify the comment left was the Moderators opinion, not how I feel about them, they said they already knew. They are worried over other things. Usually it's something they think I believe. When the learn I don't believe what they thought, then they feel better. Even despite a heated debate, people know the truth. Made a few godly brothers through these pm's so it's been nice to have reason to reach out to them and be nice after it went so badly. Both times I felt bad afterwards but may not have Pm'd them otherwise. It all works out.

    You're a saint!

If that's all you have to offer, I'll take the self-edited spelling errors

My response is NOT limited to the BB (Baptist Board). I've been on public bbs (bulleting boards) since July 1984 - nearly 24 years now. I must have been kicked off some 2 maybe 3 dozen boards.

I also know the secret to NOT getting kicked off many boards: don't post. Hardly any bb kicks off inactive people (but, of course, there are some that do).

My thread was removed last night, but I do not know why. Nobody sent me a PM to tell me why.

I'm in several forums and have had posts edited or deleted simply because they disagreed with what I said. Some forum owners and moderators won't allow anyone to disagree with them. While I prefer forums where all is in harmony, I don't believe there is any such thing. There will be disagreements and debating. In some forums, anyone disagreeing with the majority will be criticized and have their posts edited and even deleted. I don't like forums like that and won't stay there.

I'm Baptist and once had a Catholic friend. We discussed our differences in beliefs and never once argued. There was no anger and no name calling. Yet, too often in "Christian" forums tempers rise and the angry words fly. That's not my idea of Christianity.

Best of my knowledge, I've never been edited or deleted, unless choosing to do so myself.

I don't think I have been edited... at least not that I know of. Some of my threads have been closed before, but it was due to the posts of others and not my own.

On the forum I help take care of, I have edited/deleted posts for all of the above. ;)
