Has anyone visited the new Creation Museum in Kentucky? Thoughts? Just one day or two?
It's wonderful! One day will be enough for a visit. We went recently and loved it. It is well worth the trip. Be prepared to stand in line for a while when you first go in. When they built the museum, they had no idea so many people would come and set up the admissions counter accordingly, so they they can only serve a few people at one time. Once you make it past the admissions part, it's pretty smooth sailing. One thing that struck us was the reverent atmosphere. We heard no foul language and didn't see provacative dress anywhere. It was almost like a big church group outing.
Here's some tips:
bring your camera
They have an indoor cafe with delicious bistro type sandwiches and chips (healthy stuff) and another indoor cafe with pizza, hot dogs, etc. if you want fast food.
If you bring your own lunch you can eat it outside on a picnic table under the shelter.
When you first get in, they will take a picture of you with a dinosaur that costs $10 if you choose to buy it. It's worth it. We bought ours.
Be prepared to spend money in the gift shop/book store. It's FULL of great dvd's, books, gift items, etc.
If you are going to be in the area for a few days, check out the Newport Aquarium, too. It's not faith based, but it's a good vacation site to visit, too.
Thanks so much for the info!! Very helpful!! :wavey: Looking forward to our trip!
