The media was abuzz with whispers that he would be a "sore loser" and maybe even run as a third party candidate which would surely cost Jeb or one of the early favorites, the November election, pushing Hillary right into the Oval Office.

Well, just like the odds makers and 'king makers' were proved wrong almost a year ago, it turns out that Trump won the nod, and one of the early favorites has become the political sore loser.

Did any of you see one of the other candidates playing the role of sore loser/spoiler? I am confident that while the odds on favorite (to be the sore loser) would be Trump, few would have guessed it would be Bush, Kasich or even Cruz that would be stomping their feet and holding their breath over losing to Trump.

Did Cruz and his defiant melt down before the press on Thursday morning surprise you at all?

In the heat of the primary race, Trump tweeted an unflattering photo of Cruz's wife (probably something someone tweeted to Trump), so now Cruz would rather Hillary win and sink the country (and have Hillary's Supreme Court nullify the Constitution). Ted Cruz is truly a RAT.

Cruz's speech was epic. What he did was allowed the Trump Party to reveal themselves for the anti-conscience, anit-freedom, and anti - constitution party they are. When this: "Don't stay home this November. Stand and speak and vote your conscience. Vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution." Gets you booed you know that the party is done. Cruz showed the contrast and it was brilliant. Well done Ted Cruz I appreciate his back bone.

I urge all interested people to go and watch the video at the link. It's just short of 2 minutes.

Cruz didn't melt down. He was firm and resolute until someone said that he should just roll over when his wife and father are attacked because "it's just politics."

How about Trump tweeting unflattering photos of Trump's wife, having a story placed in the National Enquirer that Cruz is having multiple affairs, calling him Lyin' Ted, saying that Cruz's Dad was complicit in the JFK assassination. How about that?

Yes he did ...BUT, remember, Cruz started with the half naked photo of Trump's wife. He said his super PAC did it without his knowledge, but, do you believe him now That he went back on his word about backing the nominee? I wanted to believe him then, and it was a strike against Trump. But, now I see the true Cruz.

Yeah the only melt down I have seen is from the Trump Supporters who can't stand the idea of people voting for freedom and the Constitution.

    Yes, I believe him.

Speaking of breaking their pledges to back the eventual GOP nominee...

EXCLUSIVE: Cruz Camp: Trump Campaign Approved Speech, 'Orchestrated' RNC Blowback To 'Make Cruz a Pariah'

Late Wednesday night, a source within the Cruz team informed Daily Wire exclusively that the Trump campaign had sandbagged Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) over his speech at the Republican National Convention. Cruz spoke at the RNC, where he congratulated Trump on his campaign victory, then spoke about the necessity for freedom and finally stated that Americans should “vote your conscience.” He was met with resounding boos on the floor of the convention; his wife Heidi had to be rushed from the room; according to reports, one Republican delegate physically accosted Cruz, and Republican mega donor Sheldon Adelson refused to meet with Cruz.

According to the source, the entire Cruz speech was cleared by the Trump campaign. Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign manager, expressly approved the speech at 4:30 PM ET. The source, who was standing on the convention floor at the time of the speech, said that Trump operatives were present, urging the crowd to boo. “This was orchestrated by the Trump campaign to make Senator Cruz a pariah within the party,” said the source.

    http://thefederalist.com/2016/07/21...chach-test-and-donald-trumps-campaign-failed/

    From the article:
"They had hours (an eternity in campaign time), if not days, to prepare for it. They could’ve flooded the zone with surrogates pushing that message. They could’ve worked it into Gingrich’s and Pence’s speeches. If they could spend a week saying that former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski never touched Michelle Fields, that she might have been planning to attack Trump with a bomb hidden inside a ballpoint pen, that we’ve always been at war with Eastasia, Team Trump could’ve spent a couple of hours pretending that “vote your conscience” was an endorsement of Trump’s agenda and a clear denunciation of Hillary Clinton.

The Trump campaign could’ve mitigated the damage. Trump and his campaign staff might’ve even been able to turn the liability Cruz created into a small asset for the campaign.

But they didn’t. Instead of biting their tongues, they took the bait. Two billion dollars in free media can buy party’s presidential nomination, but it unfortunately can’t buy a campaign a lick of discipline or common sense."

That one Sentence that Cruz uttered showed the truth of the Trump party. And there is no undoing it at this point.

The RNC is a failure. Very low energy. Nobody is watching it. The ratings are in the toilet. Sad.

I was a Cruz supporter for the nomination. No more. His low class sore loser speech sealed the deal.

I KNEW it!!! When I found out they had received the speech early, i knew it was a Trump ploy to bring his "supporters" together.

He knew that Cruz would either make him look stupid and he could play the victim or else he could let Cruz do what he did and have the Trumpets coalesce around him even more.

Played just like a reality tv star.

I have not been a Cruz fan because he came across as kinda ho hum to me. Was proud of him last night for not rolling over and showing that some people do still have a conscience and integrity about themselves.

I thought Chris Christie's review of Cruz's speech was hilariously ironic. "It was awful. It was selfish".

This from the guy that spoke at Romney's convention and went on and on and on and on with the "me, I, I, I, I, etc." for at least 15 minutes before mentioning Romney's name.

Christie's just upset that he is the forgotten step child of the Trump team. he sold out his principles for the chance to be VP and it has gotten him no where.

Yes now that he lost VP, he seems to be openly campaigning for Attorney General.
