If those facts are indeed correct, then I hope the State of Delaware gets to pay twice the amount sued for, and those "officers" get hanged, or at the very least, put in prison, forfeit all their benefits, and stay in jail for the rest of their lives.

Delaware forbids the use of tasers of non-resisting suspects. He was never placed under arrest, and the police never identified themselves.

Hale had a concealed carry permit, and he was a member of a biker gang under criminal investigation. Two big factors in the upcoming trials.

If he had a concealed carry permit does not that also mean that he had a clean criminal record? I would think any lawyer could dance circles around the idea that he was dangerous because he had a permit.

There's no doubt they went to this home looking for trouble. I'm not sure they even knew who they shot, until after the fact. And we can't have cops shooting suspects without a trial, first.

    But you know trial lawyers.

I am bumping this up because I think this is an issue which is of legitimate concern to all, IF the Delaware cops did murder this war hero.

anybody know what's the latest on this one ?

Small consolation, but, for what it's worth, I am absolutely happy to learn from the article link that this Marine was buried with military honors at Quantico, Virginia.

The circumstances of his death touched a raw nerve in me, having come from a third world country where the police plant evidence, do summary executions, and are by and large corrupt, and in most cases inept at handling investigations, and in some areas are little more than private armies for the ruling politicians.

What got me most was them shooting Mr. Hale three times in the chest in full view of children, and witnesses. In broad daylight.

    Such arrogance.

so now you've got a couple of children who are traumatized and will grow up having a hard time trusting police, not to mention his two stepchildren who, based on what we read, seem to adore their stepdad.

Excellent points on the children. Not sure if you saw this in the complaint but if the below is true, it demonstrates what an honorable (though pagan) man he was...

...and what dishonorable men his assailants were (if the complaint and eyewitness reported accounts are true).

Let's remember that. Let them have their day in court.

Indeed, I read that part about the kids, and that's one of the things that got me to admire Mr. Hale.

Here you've got 50,000 volts or so of electricity coursing thru your body and most will feel only the pain but he had the presence of mind to think of the kids.

Sounds like the kind of marine who'll throw his body on a grenade to protect his buddies.

    Decent man.

In looking for updated info on David Hale I came across this Biden connection...

...I wasn't successful finding anything resembling an update so if anyone comes across something current I'd be obliged if you'd post it.
