KJVO leaning preacher: "This past December i finally graduated from seminary, and it was one of the few Southern Baptist seminaries that was not pushing the new Holman Christian Standard Bible, mainly because the bulk of the faculty were big fans of the NASB and the seminary president was part of the board that helped with the English Standard Version translation."

As far as I can tell the HCSB was not available to
the public until April 2004. So how could any seminary
be "pushing" it the fall semester of 2003?

Possibly because I have had my New Testament since early in 2003 when it was published just in time to slam the ESV.

Of course, this means the seminary may just be preaching half the Bible? :D

Now you can even walk into a "Lifeway" bookstore with your head high since it is no longer called a Southern Baptist Bookstore. While you are there you will want to get Adrian Roger's and W.A. Criswell's new NKJV study Bible. After all, who gets a study Bible edited by the greatest preacher since Spurgeon (according to President Bush) --- (You just can't get him to leave his office...........Criswell, that is........ :D )

    robycop: "Advanced revelation"

None of the above -- the HCSB NT (the initial installment intended to slam the TNIV [not the ESV]) was released in 2000. Such indeed is the copyright date in my "Here's Hope" copy.
