The left declassified the techniques but failed to declassify the results. Wonder why?

I think both Cheney and the CIA have valid points: The public release of these memos was not necessary for a crucial review or policy change if that was Obama's purpose. However, he chose to release the memos. Whoever advised Obama that that was a good decision... I've no idea.... nor any idea whether he even sought any advice.

It is a valid point that releasing these internal and heretofore secret memos has exposed the limits and the methods our forces have used in interrogation. Before, it was just rumour and conjecture..... but now both enemy and friend alike are aware of techniques used and while some choose to ground their crticism into the now exposed facts.... others can use this information to train to the limits of these techniques which were used so that their accomplices are hardened to accept and endure these interogation techniques.

The general consensus before release of these interrogation techniques was that no useful information would be given though under stressful coercion: No doubt the former Veep knows to what extent the information gained served the security of the US and its people.... and to the extent this information does or doesnot represent a threat to security by releasing the information. Since the techniques used are no longer a matter of conjecture but are revealed to be fact.... it is more important to bring forward the data derived from there use so that the public is aware of any efficiencies and accuracies in information which were gained. Otherwise, the current release of these memos serves one purpose onlly and that is to publicaly indict the previous administration by selectively releasing information while hiding addittional evidence.

Personally, I think it was a very unwise move on Obama's part: It does nothing to add to his credit or that of the US, and is like the kid who doesn't understand reasonable confidences kept within one's family..... broadcasting partial understandings to others who have no interest in its welfare or business but who may use information to undermine the weaknesses, or relationships of trust which took a while to develop, to work a destruction.

Who, in such cases, needs informants, when there is no need to be wired or to know combinations, or trade secrets, because the enthusiasm is greater to expose and reveal everything within ones playing hand to all others at the card table without any reciprocity or allegiance required of them?

Who are "The Left" and what exactly did they do. Personally, I'd like to see most of the documents that Bush marked classified released to the public. I wish they had done the same with the physical evidence from 9/11. Just what did they have to hide?

Nothing. The next 09/11 or worse will show you just how safe Bush kept us after 09/11. To release them served only for political gain for the left, to hush up all those who contributed millions to the O's campaign and who want blood from the previous administration. It served no useful purpose and windcatcher summed it up for you if you bother to read. The release of those memos puts our national security at risk. Perhaps you will realize it after the next terrorist attack, too little, too late.

That was the general consensus from mostly the left and the international community. I always believed useful information was gained. But those days are over now, the next terror attack will make 09/11 pale in comparison. Stock up on food and water and your prescription medications. :tear:

Why don't you worry about what you believe and stop putting words in the mouths of "the libbies?"

    Mr

There were four plane crashes on 9/11 albeit under highly unusual circumstances. The FAA is required by law to investigate all airline disasters. They never submitted a report for these four crashes. Why not?

Still confused I see JC. The concern is the release of those documents that show the results obtained by the interrogation of the terrorists. Czar obama was eager to release documents that make the United States look bad. He refuses to release documents that show how many lives and how much destruction was prevented by the interrogation of these terrorist, responsible for killing over 3000 people on 9/11.

Incidentally in case you are still confused, you are the left.

My concern is the release of those documents that show what has really gone on over the last 8 years. You have your concern and I have mine.

Bush, Cheney and their gang of thugs are traitors to America.

Let's see......pushing for the wholesale and unlimited slaughter of unborn children is one of the greatest crimes in the history of the US. Was that Bush, Cheney or Obama?

It was Czar obama but JC doesn't care. He is obsessed with his hatred of Bush, Cheney, and their gang of thugs.
