Several years ago, illegals were doing landscaping work at Gov Romney's home.

The Governors defense is that he hired a company, and he directly had no control over employees hired.

When the issued was first brought to light - Romney demanded that the company hire no new illegals.
When the company did anyways, than Romney fired the company.

Sounds like Romney took a reasonable approach to the problem. Not so much the landscaping company. When the governor of the state tells a company to quit hiring illegal immigrants and the company refuses, I question the intelligence of that business owner.

Are we really supposed to question each company we use as to the legality of their employees citizenship? It's on the employer, not the customer.

I agree. This is a faulty attempt at an attack on Romney. I think the attacks actually back-fired.
