How does the church you attend evangelize those in your community?
When I first became involved in the Evangelism Ministry at our church, it was through a class called Evangelism Explosion (EE). The head of the ministry at that time, had a vision to train the leaders first how to witness and then have those leaders train others using EE. After a year, about 60 people in a church of 900 were trained. During EE, we were able to visit people who visited our church. Many were saved and even joined our church. The Lord blessed the head of that ministry to get married and move to Cali. I was asked to assume the duties.
Besides a WHOLE LOT of prayer, we still offer EE classes. We also go out and witness in the neighborhoods around our church every 3rd Saturday. On the 1rst Saturday of each month, someone from our church preaches at a Nursing Home in the neighborhood, afterwards, we witness. On the 3rd Saturday (after witnessing) someone from our church preaches at a homeless shelter. We witness there too. My prayer for our Evangelism Ministry is to make available the opportunities for the church body to witness to others. We have a faithful few that comes out and witness. What keeps others from coming out is simply fear. I believe if we stay consistent, more will overcome their fears. I would really like to see us do a prison ministry.
Where could I get some information on the EE program. Is there a link to a web site?
Their web site is: http://www.eeinternational.org/
