    How could they be so precise? Actually, I would have thought it would have been 4.666 billion years old!

    So you know beyond in doubt that there was no miraculous event during the last 6000 years that caused a lot of radioactive decay, that the decay rate was constant and what the starting conditions were?

    as to the preciseness of the dating, it is not even given so it is not even a scientific number. Even isochrons do not even agree that well

    Go to the website icr.org. They have good info for you.

    as to the age of the earth it is only about 6000 years and this is proven beyond all doubt. So this dating is invalid.

    What if that dating is correct? It is not going,to change the truth of Genesis 1:1-3. Psalms 90:2, ". . . Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. . . ."

    While that is true, that dating is wrong. Therefore since it is not the truth it should be challenged.

    Because of radioactive decay. It isn't difficult to find out how long U238 would take to become Pb206, for example. And you can work backwards. Given numerous isotopes, you can discover the age of things in a natural environment.

    The error is not considering the supernatural.....like creation.... that things were created in a state of age (like Adam being created as a grown man).

    And I wonder if the meteorite encountered radioactive bombardment....couldn't that change the state by ionization without the time it would take for natural radioactive decay?

    I'm with Henry Morris who said that when he was in school the Earth was said to be 4.5 billion years old and that there were 7 proofs of it.

    Now, it is said that the Earth is 7.5 billion years old and there are 7 proofs of that.

    Then, what does he say about all that?

    "Well now, I did go to school a long time ago, but..."
