Last Friday, someone going by the name "dermdoc" posted a thread on a message board for Texas A&M students and alumni with this topic: "Laid off my first Obama voting employee today."

"Our reimbursement rates are spiraling downward, taxes are projected to go up with Obamacare, so I did it," the person wrote. He later added: "I made this decision because I can."

"It is kind of interesting watching their face as you explain to them the economic consequences of the policies of the guy they voted for," wrote dermdoc.

"My office manager and med business guru have calculated that this is just the beginning. Tax rates are going to go through the roof with additional Obamacare taxes AND the expiration of the Bush tax cuts," he added. "And most analysts think reimbursement rates for docs will go down about 20-25% the next 2 years, and that is BEFORE Obamacare really kicks in."

dermdoc wrote that he feels "kind of feel like the Hollywood lib directors who wouldn't give parts to conservative actors."

"The most interesting thing was seeing the reactions of other employees who came to the startling realization that their support of a guy who hurts my business could cost them their job," he wrote.

He sounds so gleeful at the prospect of firing someone. It's sickening.

Maybe he was just glad to see someone reaping what they sew. Like when the Lord said, "I also will laugh at your calamity..."

It's not Christlike. Jesus looked with compassion on people. He didn't gloat.

Five percent pay cut last year

    3.8% cut this year

Heathcare costs continue to climb - (work covers $600 of it - I cover the rest)

38% cut in Medicare reimbusements to physicians for stress testing

My job's safe but my salary isn't.

Obama for change??? - Yup change that's all I'll have left :BangHead:

Obamacare or not, things weren't going to get any better in the health field with the status quo.

Good for the doctor! Hopefully we'll see more of this as time goes on. Those who voted for this mess should be the one's to suffer.

Would you say the same if a liberal fired a conservative employee?

Yep. I believe that a private business should be able to fire an employee for any reason they wish, including, but not limited to, the employee being liberal, conservative, homosexual, straight, too tall, too short, asian, white, black, hispanic, or italian.

This is why I don't talk about politics at work (not that I've worked for someone as crazy as this doctor). It can only cause problems.

Thus we have to have the government step in to pass and enforce anti-discrimination laws.

I think what you meant was, "Thus we have the government that puts its nose where it doesn't belong."

    Unfortunately, everyone will suffer.

I dunno, it is probably not good to make it known you are firing someone because they supported Obama. I don't believe at present there are laws forbidding political discrimination in the workplace, but if word gets out about firings like this you can bet some will try to pass a law making it so.

Perhaps you are missing the doctor's point. IMO, in the doctor's view, he fired someone who voted for someone who was against the place of their employment. I think the doctor has questions about how loyal an employee is who votes against their place of employment. Perhaps he had to let someone go, so he picked the one less loyal to their place of employment..I didn't say I agreed with the doctor, but I think that is the point he is trying to make.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.............And the Word was made flesh , and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Which is it, StefanM? Is Jesus God? Is God divided or One? Does God change? Have his words changed?
You may have an argument to present.... but you haven't made it with your statement here.

Was that reply to me? If so, I agree with the doctor, I'm just saying he has to be very careful not to voice his reason, even more careful not to write it.

If an employer wants to get rid of you, they will find a way. We had a fellow who really knew how to work the system where I worked. We used to get paid overtime for anything over 8 hours a day. We had plenty of work and this fellow would work 12 hours a day Monday through Wednesday, so for that 12 hours overtime he would get 18 hours normal pay. Then he would call in sick Thursday and Friday. Sometimes he would call in sick on Monday and Tuesday, and then work 12 hours Wednesday through Friday. There was nothing they could do about it, because he carefully followed all the rules. But it was obvious to everyone he was working the system.

One day kidding around he said he would shoot someone. For all his faults this fellow was very nice and very harmless. It was obvious he was just joking around, but they pulled him in the office in a heartbeat and fired him. They even called the Police and charged him with threatening (to cover their you know what). He ended up getting in all sorts of serious trouble over a joke.

If management wants to get rid of you they will find a way (or create one).

Then maybe you'll think differently if you get fired for being a Christian.

Exactly. Without these laws, we turn a country of freedom into a country of serfdom where your Lord (the employer) has complete control over your livelihood.

I agree, I don't see why everyone else should suffer when they did it.
If he's conserative he didn't vote for this mess we're in.
I think the employer should be able to employee people of his choice, so far he's still got that freedom.

could be right, this guy did show he has no loyalty to his place of employment or his employer, not a v ery good employee.

we are quickly approaching this very thing with obama.
