Curious. I didn't see him at Ground Zero with Guilliani and all the other NYC important people and the masses of people grieving and paying tribute.

Didn't see him at the Pentagon with President Bush and all the military people the former and present Secretary of Defense and all the relatives and friends who attended the ceremonies there.

Didn't see him at Shanksville PA where John McCain spoke, either.

His 09/11 absence was noticeable. Does anyone know where he was? It wasn't reported in the news that I watched.

And the forum last night at Columbia University with John McCain and the walk around in the afternoon with John McCain at Ground Zero doesn't count. I'm talking about the 09/11 memorial services.

The news showed both McCain and Obama at a reflection pool together - thought it was near ground zero or the memorial. McCain respectfully laid his flower on the pool while Obama walked up and kind of tossed his in as though he wished he wasn't there - yes my opinion of his body language, but some in the media drew attention to the same thing with the same assumption.

I saw that about the flower. Thought that was a little unstatesman-like. Uncharacteristic of Obama. Well...getting to be more characteristic of him.

So now Obama doesn't have the right body language? He doesn't look "sad enough?'.

Whats next? This reminds of the time a former church member phoned to say that my wife did not wave hard enough when she saw them.

Apples and oranges, C4K. Obama clearly is a tactician at crafting his image. Marketing journals have made several studies of this. The fact that he'd commit a possible image gaffe is noteworthy. I'm not indicting, I'm analyzing.

I appreciate your attempts to be fair. Very commendable.

I read where he had lunch with Bill Clinton and then went to Ground Zero to meet with McCain. However, unable to find any news mention of his whereabouts during the Memorial Services in the morning of 09/11. I find it curious that he is running for President but his presence was not noted at any of the Memorial Services for 09/11 in any of the three locations. Very curious indeed.

So I ask, did he or does he not care? Why would he not attend and if he did attend 1 of the 3 memorial services why was it not reported by any major news media? Where was he?

    Okay, I found this:

He attended by web site and email:

    http://www.ajc.com/shared/content/news/stories/2008/09/11/911_anniversary_mccain_obama.html

and as already noted, Senator McCain spoke at Shanksville, PA for the flight 93 memorial.

That accounts for everyone. And also speaks volumes to me about the four candidates for the highest office in the land and what they think is important on one of the most important and tragic days in US history.

You hatred of Obama is very visible and you choice of words are very inflmmaory. Did you even search the Net? With such an extreme bias I hope you are ethical enough to remove yourself as a monitor of this particular thread and all threads about Obama or McCain.

It doesn't count for whom? You?

I don't care at all where he was Thursday morning - he and McCain showed class by laying the fight aside for a few hours and appearing together.

It is unfortunate that some would use the occasion of the anniversary of one of America's darkest hours cast aspersions on a candidate.

Of course he cared. To even imply any less is a questionable tactic.

Yes I did search the net and the article you posted was already covered in the OP. I am not talking about political ads or the events that happened later in the day. I am curious as to his whereabouts during the memorial services which I found out and posted above where the 4 candidates were. Obama made his appearance by web and email.

As to your other charge, sorry if you find the truth inflammatory. My ethics (of which you know nothing about- and actually is a personal attack against me, further PAs will be deleted or edited out) have nothing to do with this thread.

The truth is, Obama didn't care enough to make a public appearance at any of the 3 memorial services unless you can prove he was there and unnoticed by the media during the time of the memorial services. If you can locate his whereabouts about 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. ET on 09/11, please post the link. Thanks. I think his nonappearance is very telling about what he really thinks about the attack on this nation and its people.

Actions or non-actions speaks louder than words. That he and McCain showed class by laying aside the fight for a few hours is not the topic of this thread. I am not casting aspersions on a candidate, as far as I'm concerned, he has cast aspersions on himself by not bothering to show up. The topic of this thread is his whereabouts during that crucial and sad time for this country. If it were anyone else, the major media would be all over this, and I am surprised you have fallen for the trap of casting aspersion on those who would question his whereabouts. After all, he is not only a presidential candidate, he is the new leader of the Democratic Party and a US Senator, as well.

You really are dredging the bilges aren't you. He was not a US Seantor in 2001, so why would you expect him to be in NYC that day? I expect he was home in Illinois attending to whatever business he had there as a state seantor of Illinois.

You are casting aspersions on the Obama on the sly with your question. There is a very strong innuendo in your OP attempting to question Obama's character and patriotism. I find this very offensive ... and would find it offensive is some posted such a leading question about McCain.

Okay - on topic. I don't know and I don't care where he was and I don't think it has any importance whatsoever as to his qualifications for office or for his thoughts about the day. I think is wrong to imply that because he didn't show enough compassion to suit some people that they would imply that he doesn't care about the thousands of victims of that dark, dark day. .

I'm not being sly about anything. I think he casts aspersions on himself by not showing up in memory of the thousands people who died that day in this country. It's not like he's just some senator from Illinois, he is running for POTUS. His absence speaks for itself, IMO.

And who do you think you are you kidding, anyway? If GW Bush hadn't shown up, you and the rest of the liberals would be all over the place bashing him and casting aspersions on him like has happened through the past 8 years.

I'm asking a legitmate question which the media has ignored. But apparently, it is not being ignored by everyone.

    *******

This video of the later events of the day was pulled off a Hillary Clinton web site (from YouTube) and one question on there was where was Michelle Obama? Cindy McCain was there with John.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67a8BYSx2DU

And yes, as someone else pointed out earlier on this thread, he did toss his flower into the reflecting pool.

I think it is a legitimate issue to question his patriotism NOW, BEFORE he should step foot into the Oval Office if, God Forbid, that should happen. I make no apology for it, whether you or anyone else on here likes it or not.

"So now Obama doesn't have the right body language? He doesn't look "sad enough?'.

Now you've got it, glad you finally came around!

Sorry, I thought I was allowed an opinion, silly me!

My comment was "McCain respectfully laid his flower on the pool while Obama walked up and kind of tossed his in as though he wished he wasn't there - yes my opinion of his body language, but some in the media drew attention to the same thing with the same assumption." Seems clearly labeled opinion and assumption, but when a liberal media agrees with me there might have been something to it when they disagreed with the actions of their darling.

The think that scares me is that the Liberal media agreed with me! That is very disconcerting.

Of course you do - and so does everyone else. No one denied you the right to your opinion.

I am no fan of Obama, but I do think if he'd been in the middle of the hubbub that there would have been criticism of that too.

    JMHO of course.

There is nothing legimate about a question like this. Obama was a state senator at that time. Do you condemn all state senators for not being in NYC after 9/11. What a mess that would have been! You are simply trying to cast a person you do not like in the shadows of doubt with nonsense questions.

Why is it that so many conservatives call anyone liberal who does not agree with them on every jot and tiddle.

TO be fair - the question is about where he was this past week on the anniversary of the attacks.
