I really enjoyed seeing the Body of Christ flex its collective muscle at Chick-fil-a last week. But is marriage under attack because Christians have made so little of marriage? Divorce statistics amongst Christians is shameful and rivals divorce elsewhere.

Evangelicals are throwing their collective weight behind the candidacy of a man who worships a false god.

Much like with marriage, will the day soon come---is that day today---where a lost world doesn't listen to Christians when they talk about Christ, because much like we have with marriage, we seem to make so little of Christ?

How much like we did with marriage where we have treated it like the lost world treats it and thus the lost world is trying to redefine it, will the same thing happen with who we say Christ is after the Body of Christ has started to treat the worship of HIM the same way we did marriage?

Consumption of alcohol would be another of those things that lends credence to a day ahead where the world does not listen to what we have to say about Christ.

The Church justifies drinking and the world inevitably assumes that if we are okay with doing it sometimes, then we probably get a little tipsy every now and then. And the Church has become so compromised on this, that now it's very difficult for the lost world to listen to the church about drinking.

Yet evangelicals are throwing their collective weight behind the candidacy of a man who worships a false god.

I'm not looking at an election, but the broader picture that will result from the Church's non-Christ honoring behavior.

We've treated drinking the same way that a lost world treats it. And now we're starting to treat the worship of God the same way. Are we seeing a proliferation in the worship of gods that are not Jesus Christ because of the way the Church has started to not honor the worship of Him?

    We did it with marriage.
    We did it with drinking.

Are the direct attacks on Jesus Christ as Lord getting ready to explode because the Body is starting to make so little of Him as God the same way that our actions made so little of marriage?

Do you do much witnessing? How's it go for you?

    --------------------
Co-worker: "Do you want to grab a beer after work?"

You: "No. I believe my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would not approve of drinking alcohol, only grape juice for me. Now let me tell you God's plan of salavation."

    Co-worker: "Umm...no thanks."

    ------------

Friend: "So, who do you plan on voting for?"

You: "Definitely not Romney. He's a cult member that worships a false god. Not Obama. He's a false Christian that favors the wholesale slaughter of the unborn. I'm going to write in someone that meets my criteria. Now let me tell you God's plan of salvation."

    Friend: "Nah, that's OK."

I'd say that I all but completely agree with your assertions, BUT you definitely 'stepped' into it deep around here (note the emboldened text).

That is one one golden calf that is far too sacred to pound into dust. I wish God's blessings upon you and hope you're good at dodging the fiery arrows henceforth.

Will say that those of this world will hate jesus and teaching about Him, those who are being saved by God will hear him and follow Him!

By your inability to connect the dots and your consistent cynicism, I'd say it's pretty obvious that you don't do much witnessing.

My point is that because of our doing the exact same things as the lost world, more and more you don't have to worry about getting to the point of a conversation.

They know and are aware of the Church's growing reputation of being hypocritical in so many areas( and we keep giving them more examples) that, kinda like they do with Jehovah's Witnesses at the front door, they're not gonna give you the chance to get into a conversation about Jesus.

Why would they when the church has developed more and more of a reputation of compromising on so much while standing for so little?

Absolutely. But I a question several years ago of some folks. I said "will the day come when the Body of Christ---the Church---is doing more to point folks to destruction than they are pointing folks to Christ? Is that day fast approaching? Is it here?

If it is here or if a day arises where it's clear that it is, I pray that God go ahead and get us out of the way.

    Clothed in His armor.

It's just another one of those things that the church has compromised on that leaves a lost world with the perception that ain't nothing any different about them than there is about us.

Think that we are saying the dividing theological line happening now...

Liberal Christianity will have no hell, all sincere peoples of whatever faith getting to heaven, and Emphasis on love of jesus that allows for alternate lifestyles/abortion etc as all acceptable to their jesus!

You are so right and it truly is shameful that we,again, the people of Christ are so much more concerned about what's going on as to people's rights here in this world with little consideration for their eternity.

It's the classic thinking that sacrifice is better than obedience. And it's gonna send a lot of folks to an eternal lake of fire.

I wonder if in giving an account before God if He will show us the things that we did wrong that influenced lost folks to stay lost?

The lost world wants nothing to do with Jesus or with Christianity. I know I never gave God a thought until I was in a position to learn about Him. It's a long story, and I don't know if I've told it here or not.

As for divorce, it unfortunately happens. I'm twice divorced due to my first wife committing adultery over and over, and my second wife constantly criticizing everything I said and did--even the way I sat down (heavily).

We should be godly examples pointing the world to Jesus, but, unfortunately, we more often than not turn them away by our lives that don't match our words. We try to tell the lost that Jesus can change your life, while many claiming to be Christians live like the devil. The hypocrisy among those claiming to know Christ speaks much louder than our words.

Well said Jon-Marc. But I'm starting to think that most who call themselves Christians don't care about this because though they have knowledge of Christ, they've never been transformed by Christ.

Zaac I think that the world is looking for something pure and honest although they are looking in all the wrong places. My cousins granddaughter is shipwrecked in her life and she writes things on her Facebook page about wanting a good man. The problem is a good man would not want her.
I think it is much the same with the world and the church, at least in general, but with a little more of a problem. The church is now hardly distinguishable from the world in how they dress, talk, where they go, their entertainment, and even their political ideals, except they might carry a bible and go to some place to hear someone speak once a week. I am amazed at how easy it is for people who claim to be Christians to miss-represent others and actually lie about them which is a serious problem on this BB.
Unless the church is willing to turn to holiness I see no reason why the world would want our message. Sometimes I think the world understands the position of the Lord Jesus on holiness better then the church. I am afraid that we have turned our liberty into a cloak of unrighteousness all the while claiming grace and don't judge me..

persons could be either babes in jesus, more interested in their daily activities , or else making false profession!

And again, the World does NOT want to hear the good news as a whole, but those whom the lord saves will come to him and respond to it to get saved!

You nailed it. :applause: It gets to be disheartening at times. But we must press on towards the finish line.
