If you could vote for a "benevolent" world dictator from this board, who would be a good candidate?

    I nominate C4K. :)

Another interesting question, with "security" meaning governmental cradle to grave "free" healthcare, would be:

How many people would be quite willing to have a dictatorship installed in these United States if the dictator would promise them "security".

The answer to the second question might be the same unquantified "many" that Ken proposed in his opinion that you supported.

    Would you understand why?

Sure it is. We just call it something else to soothe our guilty conscience for going along with it.

Poncho: //If you run on an anti torture platform don't expect to get many votes from Christians Ed.//

    I aught to.
The torturers we train today might be killing us
    Christians tomorrow.
That is the danger of training torturers :(

Headline: OU punishes RUF/NEKS for hazing, alcohol violations

    http://www.normantranscript.com/localnews/local_story_297151724.html

//Current members of the OU RUF/NEK spirit group
have been banned from appearing at official university
    events
as punishment for hazing, mistreatment of pledges
and misuse of alcoholic beverages in conjunction
    with RUF/NEK events.//

    In Oklahoma we punish torturers.
It makes no sense to send OU grads* to
be officers in the Military where they are going to
    learn how to be torturers.

(* note: I'm an OU grad also)

Just 50 years ago the majority of Voters in
the State of Oklahoma were Southern Baptists.
Just 30 years ago the majority of Voters in the
    State of Oklahma were Baptists.
The majority of Voters in the State of Oklahoma
    are still Christians.

Magnetic Poles: //Torture is not a Christian value.//

Amen, Brother Magnetic Poles -- Preach it!

I've read too many posts by Christians in favor of torture and/or rationalizing it away as something else to be convinced of that now brothers. I wish it were different but that's the way it is in this "post 9/11 world".
