Well, as stated, they do have the sabbath in common.

Which in my mind begs the question, what did they tell the muslims they had in common in 2003?

True enough - no pork for "some" of the devout orthodox, no shell fish, no snakes no rats cats dogs or bats - and the same for SDAs.

Also - both observe the Creator's Holy day from evening to evening - sunset to sundown.

But beyond that -- huge differences.

SDAs are sola scriptura (OT and NT - ALL 66 books of scripture) - the Orthodox are steeped in tradition.

SDAs are trinitarian - the Orthodox Jews are not.

SDAs not only keep the Creator's Sabbath but they admit that the Creator did what He CLAIMED to have done in creating the world in SIX days and resting on the actual seventh. The orthodox reject that and embrace evolutionism instead.

The SDAs believe that Satan is a "Bad angel" a fallen Angel. The Orthodox do not.

SDAs do not believe in purgatory or the guf of souls or praying to the dead etc etc

    Interesting article, Boanerges!

Sounds very similar to what the RCC and the evangelicals did with Evangelicals & Catholics Together:
The Christian Mission in the Third Millennium
in 1994 and the Lutherans & Roman Catholics did October 31,1999 with the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification - The Lutheran World Federation and the Catholic Church. The stage is being set for the One World Church!!

We are very close to the Lord's return for His Bride, the Church. (1 Thess. 4:13-18)

As it turns out a lot of Christians have gone to the "Holy Lands" and even tried to reach out to Jews with the ONE true Gospel!

But what if we could "pretend" there is something evil in doing that? Wouldn't that be neat??

On the other hand - if Christians go to Muslims or Budhist or even Jews with the "everybody's religion is the same" doctrines -- then they are teaching error.

It is true the stage is being set for a one world Religion, and the common denominator is SUNDAY WORSHIP, or the false Sabbath, instituted by the Roman Catholic Church.

Which is why in Revelation 14:6-12 we are warned to "worship Him who CREATED the heavens and the earth" which is a quote right out of the 4th commandment, the SABBATH commandment.

THEN Revelation 14 goes on to warn that those who receive the Mark of the Beast are IN CONTRAST WITH those who are God's people that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD"

So YES there is going to be a One World Religion and the great common point will be the false man-made Sunday Sabbath.

It is unfortunate that indeed in EVERY CHURCH man of the church leaders have, in order to gain popularity with the world, decided to ecumenize with other religions.

Fortunately, the Seventh Day Adventist Church has been BLESSED with the Spirit of Prophecy in which we have already been forwarned that many in our church leadership would go out into darkness... and depart from "the Old Landmarks" of our faith.. There are MANY MANY Historic Seventh Day Adventists who hold to "the faith once delivered to the Saints"...

Yet we are ALSO told beforehand that MANY MANY will join with our ranks once they realize the truth about the 7th Day Sabbath and the Ten Commandment Law of God, that law that was NEVER done away with.

Its not allright to kill your neighbor, its not allright to commit adultery because Jesus died on the cross, and NO its not allright to disregard the 4th commandment EITHER!

Unfortunately, MANY in ALL CHRISTIAN CHURCHES have departed from the faith, as the Bible declared that they would:

1Tm:4:1: Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils...

..and of course, many will... with GLEE try to point specifically to the way that some of the Church Leadership in the Seventh Day Adventist Church has departed from the True Biblical Standards, in an effort to try and make it seem as if this is somehow "proof" that our beliefs must not be right, but those with discernment and maturity will be able to see right through that ploy.

Every church is going to have it's Judas. Its Tares and Wheat. Jesus said they would grow together in "the Church".

All throughout the ages, God's people have backslidden and wanted to go unite with the world. But this is why God gave His Church throughout the ages His Prophets, to call them back to the straight path.

....as long as there is Satan, there will be those he is able to deceive. But just as the people of God in Old Testament times had "The Truth" yet were drawn away from it... so do God's people have "the Truth" and are at times drawn away from it.

It is not even ethical to take the errors of some in leadership positions in the Seventh Day Adventist Church and try to hold them up as "an example" of what we believe. This is false and very misleading. You need to go by the HISTORIC SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST DOCTRINES and not try to confuse the issues.

Ellen White, That I May Know Him, page 211, paragraph 5
    Chapter Title: God's Appointed Signature
There will be a sharp conflict between those who are loyal to God and those who cast scorn upon His law. The church has joined hands with the world. Reverence to God's law has been subverted. The religious leaders are teaching for doctrine the commandments of men. As it was in the days of Noah, so it is in this age of the world. But shall the prevalence of disloyalty and transgression cause those who have reverenced the law of God to have less respect for it, to unite with the powers of earth to make it void? The truly loyal will not be carried away by the current of evil. They will not throw scorn and contempt on that which God has set apart as holy. The test comes to every one. There are only two sides. On which side are you?

Ellen White, Conflict and Courage, page 146, paragraph 1
    Chapter Title: Like Everyone Else
Nay; but we will have a king over us; that we also may be like all the nations . 1 Sam. 8:19, 20.

The Hebrews demanded a king of Samuel, like the nations around them. By preferring a despotic monarch to the wise and mild government of God Himself, by the jurisdiction of His prophets, they showed a great want of faith in God, and confidence in His providence to raise them up rulers to lead and govern them. The children of Israel being peculiarly the people of God, their form of government was essentially different from all the nations around them. God had given them statutes and laws, and had chosen their rulers for them, and these leaders the people were to obey in the Lord. In all cases of difficulty and great perplexity, God was to be inquired of. Their demand for a king was a rebellious departure from God, their special leader. He knew that a king would not be best for His chosen people. . . . If they had a king, whose hearts was lifted up and not right with God, he would lead them away from Him, and cause them to rebel against Him. The Lord knew that no one could occupy the position of king, and receive the honors usually given to a king, without becoming exalted, and their ways seem right in their own eyes, while at the same time they were sinning against God.

God had separated the Israelites from every other people, to make them His own peculiar treasure. But they, disregarding this high honor, eagerly desired to imitate the example of the heathen! And still the longing to conform to worldly practices and customs exists among the professed people of God. As they depart from the Lord they become ambitious for the gains and honors of the world. Christians are constantly seeking to imitate the practices of those who worship the god of this world. Many urge that by uniting with worldlings and conforming to their customs they might exert a stronger influence over the ungodly. But all who pursue this course thereby separate from the Source of their strength. Becoming the friends of the world, they are the enemies of God.

Last Day Events, page 179, paragraph 4
    Chapter Title: The Shaking
Some will go out from among us who will bear the ark no longer. But these can not make walls to obstruct the truth; for it will go onward and upward to the end.--TM 409, 411 (1898).

Last Day Events, page 179, paragraph 2
    Chapter Title: The Shaking
Unsanctified Ministers Will Be Weeded Out
The great issue so near at hand [enforcement of Sunday laws] will weed out those whom God has not appointed and He will have a pure, true, sanctified ministry prepared for the latter rain.--3SM 385 (1886).

Last Day Events, page 176, paragraph 3
    Chapter Title: The Shaking
    False Doctrines Draw Some Away
Science, so-called, and religion will be placed in opposition to each other because finite men do not comprehend the power and greatness of God. These words of Holy Writ were presented to me, "Of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them" [Acts 20:30]. This will surely be seen among the people of God.--Ev 593 (1890).

1Jn:2:19: They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
