AVB this is a "debate board".

Christian debate has a definite place in the life of the contender of the faith.

If your views are indeed valid it's not a good thing for you to leave because you are not the typical (or what used to be typical) KJVO brother here on the BB spouting ad hominae.

Folks are more inclined to listen to the point of view of one who is a contender but not contentious.

Also FWIW, don't be afraid to modify your views in the face of truth.

    Aint that the truth!!!

Oh, wait... no offense, I will "amen" the first paragraph...
no wait... I will "amen" the last one too!!! :tongue3:

Robycop3, I want to thank you for your abrasiveness... it helped when I was a KJVO! Now there is a difference between abrasiveness and rudeness... and we both have to watch that line.

    Whatta laugh!

Gold represents the Glory of God and His Deity.

In a spiritual warfare, of which we are in, I'd much rather have the Glory of God and let His deity fight for me than "judgement due to sin"/ brass any day!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I don't think it's a "VAIN tradition" to let God fight for me, do you?

It's really no wonder you responded the way you did, you lack spiritual wisdom in such matters. The Bible has many metaphors giving us weapons for spiritual battles. The Temple was the most lavishly adorned building in which the Lord chose to dwell therein and be worshipped. The only places He chose to dwell in that is anything less is the Tabernacle, it being very lavishly adorned as well. The other is our bodies, which are to be adorned with godliness which becometh holiness.

Study the Bible for a change instead of Dr. Gobstoppers Book of Reason.:tongue3:

No, God didn't change that part of your nature, but His Son did die for it.

I would seriously consider your calling. I actually spend very little time on the internet, but I am known to respond to those who spend nearly all their time awake arguing something that even you say the Bible does not ever mention about versions.

Can you show us all from the Bible where God ever called anyone to argue against what you repeatedly call this particular "myth"? You cannot, so you've more likely fashioned a golden calf out of it.

That is Everlasting Gobstoppers Book of Reason....

I see you are a Wonka fan too..

I know a metaphor when I see one, I was referring to the analogy that was in the OP... the way he and Hyles used it is wrong... I was trying to backhandedly point that out.

For which I thank Him every day. Do YOU?

    I HAVE...Have YOU considered YOURS?

I actually spend very little time on the internet,

I spend less than ya might think...I type fast, & generally know in advance what I'm gonna say.

but I am known to respond to those who spend nearly all their time awake arguing something that even you say the Bible does not ever mention about versions.

By all means, RESPOND AWAY. Butcha aint gonna WIN.

Can you show us all from the Bible where God ever called anyone to argue against what you repeatedly call this particular "myth"? You cannot, so you've more likely fashioned a golden calf out of it.

    Shore CAN!

Read all about how the Bereans checked out Paul's preaching against the existing Scriptures they had. If he'da said something contrary to Scripture, they'da rejected his preaching.(Acts 17:10-11)

But nowadays, unlike those Bereans, some people still believe a certain man-made false doctrine not found in Scripture. Am I hitting home, Sal?

Anyway, that myth didn't exist at that time, but we have their example of howta deal with man-made codwallop.

And from yer KJV:1 John 4:1
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

Now, knowing that myth ISN'T IN SCRIPTURE, and, trying its "spirit" & finding neither substance nor evidence(Hebrews 11:1) why do you still support it, knowing it's false? Quite a conundrum ya got yerself into, Sal!

I understand what you "pointed" out, but Hyles made a very good application concerning Scripture.

The devil is all too familiar with that which has been used against him for a longer period of time which would be considered alot more precious/gold to the LORD and His dear children in the warfare against satan and the evil works of darkness than anything "new"/brass.:godisgood:

No. I used to have alot of bad days, then I met Jesus! I used to be all wrong then Jesus saved me and made me alright!

I'll admit the truth can be rather insulting, but that doesn't change the truh, now, does it?

I got back on the internet today to observe. I found many lengthy posts and more posts though short by comparison, the number of posts is rather dramatic to say the least, of those who maintain their "call" to deal with certain subjects regarding the Bible and translations.

We have never been called to argue and debate, we are called to preach, to baptize, teach, stand, uh, I did say STAND! Contend! for the faith, but never to argue translations.

What I pointed out was that this area of faith to be contended for is where a God-hating king came in and sole the golden shields and something of a much lesser value was put in it's place to "fool" the people. What had been done in secret was made manifest.:1_grouphug:

Not actually...he tried to hawk the KJVO myth through the doggie door.

Actually, the devil has been very successful in creating such lies such as the KJVO myth, to divide churches & cause some to doubt every BV there is. Knowing these myths are NOT FOUND IN SCRIPTURE, and thus CANNOT BE OF GOD, how can any Christian continue to support them?

And thus we have laid bare the "roots" of the most-common false doctrine concerning Scripture itself...a doctrine whose modern form comes from a SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST official, a doctrine NOT FOUND WHATSOEVER IN SCRIPTURE. We Freedom Readers did as the Bereans did in Paul's day, comparing the words of MEN against the words of SCRIPTURE. In the case at hand, the words of men come up wanting against the words of Scripture. Therefore, this man-made doctrine cannot be true.

More than you would ever know this side of Glory!

Yes, along with my election. I've been called to repentence, continual repentence, I've been called to Preach the full counsel of God. i am elected to receive the fullness of God's grace since i first received saving grace the day I turned from my sin to trust the first step Jesus made towards all sinners so they too might be saved, just as God planned it!

I know, and this is the only site you spend more than two hours a day on as well? know your time is spent in this particular area more than most. Learn to redeem more time is my admonition, friend.

I already have the VICTORY in Jesus over this issue, you are still prodding at the subject and refer to a multiplicity of contradictory translations as your proof text.

All you've done is prove the Bereans searched the Scriptures to see whether or not Paul spoke the Truth, they weren't altogether certain until they did their search

Yeah, you're still hitting homeplate with your bat and haven't even hit a pitch.:tongue3:

Still tring to perfect ways of making sealing wax huh?

That which is perfect is already come, you're wasting your time, and redeemable time, trying to sway people to believe what you do.

Would you like your spirits tried some more? I would be wasting redeemable time in sodoing, I already tried you in the balances concerning this subject. Though it may sound judgemental, that is not my ulterior motive, but I have still found you wanting.

Nope. I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day or any other day including today.

I can show you what your translation says from the KJB, and I also can show that your translation doesn't say what you think it does from the KJB. If that isn't reason to support what you repeatedly deem as a myth, then your estimation that I am continuing to believe something as it being false is very wrong.

No riddle or pun interjected on my behalf, nor is it intended when dealing with the subject of God's Word.

BTW, have you stopped beating your wife?:love2:
