A member mentioned a quotation that really helped keep him from pedagogical error.

"Never say anything with greater certitude than you can find in Scripture, but never say it with less certitude, either."

He asked if we had a "place" for this. We do now.

Do YOU have a favorite or special CHRISTIAN saying, quotation or such that has been a particular blessing in your life?

Every week someone in my church quotes ME. Usually my "profound" saying was adapted (or totally stolen without attribution) from others. We are keeping a running tally and chuckling. They think I am original . . and I haven't had an original thought in my pea brain for 65 years!!

"Jesus didn't come to conquer the world. He came to conquer death."
    ~Bob Griffin

"Ten thousand years from now people will look back at us and call us the 'early church'."
    ~Bob Griffin

"Jesus is coming soon. Eat dessert first."
    ~Bob Griffin

    Only if...

"Ten thousand years from now people will look back at us and call us the 'early church'."
    ~Bob Griffin...

That will be a fact, ONLY if Jesus delays his return!

    How about this:

"I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you."

"Where there's a will, I want to be in it.."

Finally - "Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy."

    Thanks Grif!

Here are a few quotes that I have liked over the years.

Preacher, I know what the TV commentator has to say; I hear him every day. I know what the editorial writer has to say; I read it every day. I know what the magazines have to say; I read them every week. Preacher, what I want to know is, does God have anything to say? If God has anything to say, tell us what it is. W.A. Criswell
One touch of Christ is worth a lifetime of struggling…..A.B. Simpson
If your wife doesn't treat you as she should, be thankful, you might not like what you deserve.
    Jerry Falwell

"Anything under God's control is never out of control ... The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes”

Work for a cause, not applause

Live life to express, not to impress

Don't strive to make presence noticed, just make your absence felt.

One of my former pastors, the late Dr Tom Atwood, used to say "Christians ought to be willing to make war on Hell with a water pistol."
