Many nations offer material aid to hurricane victims Bush refuses to accept
    Wikinews
    Sept. 3, 2005

Over twenty-five nations have offered aid in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. In particular, France has offered the use of its resources in the Caribbean sea, including 2 navy ships, 1 navy hospital, 8 planes, 600 tents, 1000 beds, and rescuers. President George W. Bush has refused such material aid to the hurricane's victims, although cash donations will be accepted. He explained his reasons to ABC News:

I'm not expecting much from foreign nations because we hadn't asked for it. I do expect a lot of sympathy and perhaps some will send cash dollars. But this country's going to rise up and take care of it. You know, we would love help, but we're going to take care of our own business as well, and there's no doubt in my mind we'll succeed. And there's no doubt in my mind, as I sit here talking to you, that New Orleans is going to rise up again as a great city.

A few of these nations, such as Venezuela and Cuba, are disliked by the administration, but the majority are considered allies of the United States. Venezuela's Citgo Petroleum Corp. pledged a $1 million donation for hurricane aid. Cuba refused U.S. aid following Hurricane Dennis. In order to reduce the side effects of hurricane Katrina, Japan, Venezuela, and most EU countries offer to provide oil reserves to the U.S.

Some of this is probably true. Some of it is undoubtably false. Some of it is not what it seems.

We can work on it once the wheat is separated from the chaff.

    This much is certain.

If the mayor and the governor had carried out their duties a lot of what FEMA had to do would not have been necessary at all.

Mississippi was actually harder hit than Louisiana, but they actually implemented their emergency plans. The National Guard was where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there. Hospitals and nursing homes were actually evacuated. Local government took responsibility for their first responder role, made decisions and carried out their duties.

Louisiana officials were taking deep breathing exercises and "expecting" the federal government to clean up after them while they sat around with "who me?" looks on their faces.

Carpo said "Louisiana officials were taking deep breathing exercises and "expecting" the federal government to clean up after them while they sat around with "who me?" looks on their faces. "

This is all wards of the state are capable of. The whole mentality in NO is "who will watch after me." The welfare mentlality robs people of their self suffecinecy. Who will take care of me and the Children I have out of wedlock? Who will give me stamps for the grocery store? Who will subsidize my housing? Who will give me a free secondary education after I didn't take advantage of the primary one? And after they have done all this for me, why would they get mad at me and my frinds if we clean out a Wal-Mart supper center in only hours after the storm ends.

    What Caused The Flood?

Perhaps the citizens of City of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana might what to address these issues?

On the other hand, perhaps getting the federal government to throw in even more money might increase their opportunities to "benefit" from all this corruption and mismanagement.

George Bush man of the hour.

Probably the only president in history to federalize a whole state and make it look cool!

If only Abe Lincoln had it so easy back in the day.

If the lead article is correct, why hasn't the President defended himself and FEMA?

I'm sick of his molly coddling these leftists.

I wish he'd get before the nation and give us the truth as to the radical leftist Democrats.

I suppose it's his way of acting Godly. It sure isn't mine.

I suppose because the press and mainstream TV portray him as Darth Vador? any way Note that most people still get their news from ABC, NBC, and CBS. Recall ABC's dismay in the above link when people did not damn Bush.

He won't tell ya why he keeps molly coddling thses leftists but I will. They're all controlled by the globalists and work as a tag team to turn the country into a police state.

First they divided the population into two controlable opposition groups. Causing derision between the two and let that simmer for about 40 years while testing to see how much tyranny we would stand for and building a militarized federal police state. Then they pulled off a series of covert "terrorist" attacks to make us believe there is an outside threat to our security to scare us into submission. Aldous and Julian Huxley were telling us some thirty years ago the globalists were going to use terror to form their one world government. So did Orwell, and Carrol Quigley (Clintons mentor) told us how they financed themselves. Granting themselves the ability to print money without backing, and stealing our real wealth through a system of debt and legal seizures. Free trade is theft trade to ruin our farming and manufacturing abilities and to pile up more debt and get rid of the middle class.

One look at Louisiana today the first officially federalized state in the union complete with federal troops, foreign troops and mercenaries on display should tell you that.

All they had to do to keep us from revolting like the south did was to act dumb and keep us blaming the other side.

Divide and conquer. These globalists know exactly what they're doing. But now their plans and tactics have gotten so obvious and overt they don't even bother to lie about it any longer. They just act dumb and we buy the act.

Sorry I couldn't give the answer you were looking for. To do that I would have to pick sides in the false paradigm and point my finger at another group of individuals that are just as much controlled and mislead by the elite as whatever side I happen to choose to throw my lot in with.

Will the Mayor "take responsibility" for his mistakes? How about the Governor? To what will they commit tax payers in their jurisdictions to pay? How much "control" over spending will they demand?

Who believes the entire country isn't going to pay for reconstruction of New Orleans and the many other areas that were harmed? Who believes this will be done without federal government control?

Who believes this will be accomplished without increased taxes? Who believes any one is going to give up any other government programs to fund this one?

Who believes a large part of money collected for this "reconstruction" won't be diverted to "correct inequities" as a "benefits for votes" scheme?

Why do victims of this hurricane need to be given federal land? Did they own land before? If so, was the land destroyed? Does your homeowner's insurance cover your land or just the improvements you make on it? If they owned land before, who will own it if they accept this new "free" federal land?

If your home is destroyed tomorrow by a tornado or a lightning strike, will you get "free" federal land somewhere else? Will the nation pay for the reconstruction of your home? Does this mean it's safe for you to cancel your homeowner's insurance and pocket the premium cost?

Would any of you like to be trained for a different career courtesy of your fellow taxpayers because of a natural disaster that hit the area in which you live? Who believes this will apply to anyone at any income level?

Who believes race had nothing to do with the speed of initial response to this disaster? Who believes that persons of all races have been generously received far and wide and offered much by their fellow citizens out of compassion and concern for their well being? Who believes race has everything to do with the magnitude of the proposed recovery plans? Who truly wants to have the federal government - or anyone for that matter - tell you for whom, how much, and how long your will demonstrate your compassion, concern, and assistance?

Does anyone believe the persons involved - the victims - had any responsibility to organize themselves, to ration out any supplies, to render assistance to any in dire need amongst them, to maintain order amongst themselves, and to think and act rationally with respect to their temporal plight of a few days?

Friends, we are letting - demanding - the federal government take care of this problem and with that will come strings, favors, and collections.

The roll of the government should be limited to repair of the infrastructure only and no money should be spent to restore anything below sea level.
