I don't know who has placed a numerical limit on the number who are the elect, other than God, what man can do such things? </font>[/QUOTE]God chose or elected to bring salvation to the Gentiles as we see thoughout scripture. Before that He elected the nation of Israel to produce redemption for all mankind (Jesus lineage, revelation of scripture, etc all came through Israel). He elected or predestined from Israel certain divine messengers to carry out His Sovereign will (i.e. Prophets and Apostles). This is the extent of God's election. He does not elect certain individual for salvation to the neglect of others. When scripture says things like "we thank the Lord for his choice of you before the beginning of time," as he does in Thessolonians. He is speaking of God's chosing the Gentiles to receive salvation, not an individual election of certain people to the neglect of others as Calvinism assumes.

    With Respect,
    Bro. Bill
