You "demand" it? Are you going to demand everyone else expound on their profile in this thread, or am I 'special'? As well, you have no comments on the actual topic at hand?

Very well. My beliefs and intent, let's see...

My intent is to discover, understand, pass on and defend truth. By "Baptist but wavering" in my profile, I simply mean that there are some truths that have caused me to reconsider my position on some key Baptist "distinctives", and I am currently working through them to determine where I stand on those issues. I have not abandoned them at this point, I am simply reevaluating them. Currently, I am a member of a Baptist church and have no problem with what's stated in your "Fundamental Forum Guidelines", so I will continue to post here. As soon as I don't consider myself a "fundamental Baptist" (according to my own definition of "fundamental", since no one else seems to be able to provide me with a conclusive definition ), I will stop posting on this forum and let you know. If you or anyone want more details, send me a private message, as this thread is not about me, it's about sola scriptura. Deal with the message, stop trying to find something wrong with the messenger.

Brian I appreciate your responce but I feel that this is not the place to reevaluate basic baptist truth, there is plenty of space on the board to do that I just feel this is not the place. I also dissagree that anyone can post here as long as they meet their own standard. We have been blessed that the ultra liberals on this site have respectfully refrained from posting here, and this is the basis for my nit picking.

ah, and another:

a: the rcc claims to has an authoritative stream on tradition intrusted to it by god

b: such an authoritative stream of tradition would not contradict the bible

c: rcc traditions contradict the bible: worshipping mary, praying to the dead as intermediaries, etc.

since b and c are true, a must be false.

Yes Scripture is the only authoritative source for Christian faith and practice. As Paul said if anyone bring another gospel let them be accursed. The Holy Ghost has been given to us to guide into all truth but He will not speak contrary to scripture, so every thing must be filtered thru the truth and total authority of scripture. Now in my opinion the only reasoning to declare otherwise or even to entertain doubt as to the validity of this truth would closely resemble catholic teaching. As this is the fundamental Baptist forum we have no necesity to argue such truths as they are already established and accepted. As Dr. Bob mentioned when he opened this thread those who doubt this are found on the other religions forum so I say if anyone needs to argue this further why not take it there. The Holy ghost will not supersede scripture and the church dare not do so, therefore why should we.
