    From Wikiqoute

The more I see of Arabs the less I think of them. By having studied them a good deal I have found out the trouble. They are the mixture of all the bad races on earth, and they get worse from west to east, because the eastern ones have had more crosses.

He may have been insane, but he did know how to analyze a situation.

He may have been a little whacko but he was ours. I have always been suspicious that Patton was removed from this world for the convenience of higher powers.

How can there be 'bad races?' Aren't we all of one race and isn't that whole race of man composed of wicked sinners?

Are we a 'good race' simply by virtue of the shade of our skin colour or by our place of birth? Does a 'good race' of men commit genocide and ethnic cleansing to conquer a continent for their own gain? Does a good race enslave other men based totally on the fact that the shade of skin colour is different?

Would this assesment include Christian Arabs?

Really? He certainly held to no high opinion of 'The Chosen':

"...."Most of the Jews swarming over Germany immediately after the war came from Poland and Russia, and Patton found their personal habits shockingly uncivilized.

He was disgusted by their behavior in the camps for Displaced Persons (DP's) which the Americans built for them and even more disgusted by the way they behaved when they were housed in German hospitals and private homes. He observed with horror that "these people do not understand toilets and refuse to use them except as repositories for tin cans, garbage, and refuse . . . They decline, where practicable, to use latrines, preferring to relieve themselves on the floor."

He described in his diary one DP camp,

"where, although room existed, the Jews were crowded together to an appalling extent, and in practically every room there was a pile of garbage in one corner which was also used as a latrine. The Jews were only forced to desist from their nastiness and clean up the mess by the threat of the butt ends of rifles. Of course, I know the expression 'lost tribes of Israel' applied to the tribes which disappeared -- not to the tribe of Judah from which the current sons of bitches are descended. However, it is my personal opinion that this too is a lost tribe -- lost to all decency."

Patton's initial impressions of the Jews were not improved when he attended a Jewish religious service at Eisenhower's insistence. His diary entry for September 17, 1945, reads in part:

"This happened to be the feast of Yom Kippur, so they were all collected in a large, wooden building, which they called a synagogue. It behooved General Eisenhower to make a speech to them. We entered the synagogue, which was packed with the greatest stinking bunch of humanity I have ever seen. When we got about halfway up, the head rabbi, who was dressed in a fur hat similar to that worn by Henry VIII of England and in a surplice heavily embroidered and very filthy, came down and met the General . . . The smell was so terrible that I almost fainted and actually about three hours later lost my lunch as the result of remembering it."

These experiences and a great many others firmly convinced Patton that the Jews were an especially unsavory variety of creature and hardly deserving of all the official concern the American government was bestowing on them...."

How about what Israel was commanded to do?

    Deuteronomy 7:1-3
    1.When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
    2. And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
    3. Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

    Deuteronomy 20:10-18
    10. When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.
    11. And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.
    12. And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:
    13. And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:
    14. But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
    15. Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations.
    16. But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:
    17. But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:
    18. That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.

    1 Samuel 15:1-3
    1. Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.
    2. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
    3. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Not at all! But God works in mysterious ways! Or so I have heard!

But when it comes to behavior the US reminds me a lot of the sins of Israel!

So any nation today can use God's commands to Israel as an excuse for genocide and call itself a 'good race' as opposed to Patton's 'bad races?' Europeans spent 400 years committing genocide to wipe out a whole range of indigenous peoples in. North America. Was it okay because those peoples were also 'bad races?' That was the argument at the time after all.

The point is that there are no 'bad races.' Members of every people group on the face of the earth are capable of unimaginable evil. The Arabs as a people group are no more evil than any other people group. It was a fair skinned European who had just killed six million Jews, but Patton hated Jews so that was okay?

We are all descendants of Adam and Eve. Our whole race is bad apart from Christ. It is this kind of talk of 'bad races' that supports ungodly racism and makes folks feel superior just because of where they were born or the amount on melanin in the skin.

It was my privilege to know some of those “3rd Army boys” blackbird. The ones I knew may have been the exception, but they were not Patton fans. They were convinced he was crazy and was going to get them killed. They followed him anyway because they were also scared of him.

He was an extremely effective combat leader. That did not necessarily make him a good person or even a good leader except during combat.

Sadly that is the case for many great military leaders. It is rare to have a great military leader who is also a Christian who strives to live by godly principles.

    Try this Vietnam War General

    Lt Gen Hal Moore:saint:

Instigated the concept of airborne/assault helicopter warfare 7th Cavalry

A picture of what a level headed colonel looks like in the heat of hot combat surrounded & under heavy fire in the dreaded Ia Drang Trangle LZ X-Ray 1965

A movie was made of the air assault regiment under Moore's command that stared Mel Gibson as Moore----titled We Were Soldiers Once

    True, Roger----a rarity indeed!!

Another character study can be done perhaps on the late Major Dick Winters of Easy Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne----although it is hard to pick up on a religious theme while watching Band of Brothers and not slighting the actor who played Winters--Damion Lewis---but there seemed to be some sort of bond between Winters and God

    Confusion of terms...

As far is it goes, your statement so far is correct.

Now you've committed some factual and logical errors.

Factually: you are conflating 'race' which is essentially genetic code 'groups', causing some groups to have slightly different skin tones, eye color, texture of hair, build and so forth - with - 'culture' which is how people view life, interact with one another, interact with those not of their own group and most important 'religion'.

No doubt as did General Patton in the letter cited. He said 'Arabs' but I would be willing to bet he meant 'Muslims'.

Your logical mistake in your premise is that all feelings of superiority is based on skin color and place of origin. That is manifestly untrue. Take a look where all 'meeting' took place between the peoples of western civilization and the peoples of eastern civilization. All the 'meetings' were in 'eastern' settings. The reason for this is simple - the peoples of the east were all technologically junior to the peoples of the west. The eastern civilization was stuck both in place and time.

One possible exception to this were the Chinese. They had some technological advances, but were - and still are - so xenophobic they make a typical redneck hillbilly look positively welcoming of strangers.

It is interesting to note the eastern civilizations were moving right along the technological advance route until Islam struck. Down hill since then.

India has made great strides in the last sixty to seventy years in terms of modernizing both technologically and more importantly, culturally. They have - at least compared to other nations in southern Asia - a rather enlightened system of law predicated on equality in legal terms. But then, India was colonized by the British. How terrible that was for them in the long term. No doubt they are much worse off than Iran, Syria and the other Muslim nations.

Are you referring to the Muslims of the east? They are still in the process of genocide and ethnic cleansing; do you consider them a 'good race'?
You are aware the Arabic word for 'black man' is the same as the word for 'slave'? Again, you must be referring to the Muslims of the east. That group of people have made an entire lifestyle and culture out of slave-trading and theft on a national scale.

It is hard to determine. The Muslims either kill them, make them slaves or otherwise suppress them to the point where observation is difficult.

If one bothers to look, one finds all the Muslim nations of the East and northern Africa are technologically, culturally, economically and spiritually inferior to even the poorest Western nations. It is all due to Islamic culture. General Patton was correct. Politically incorrect, but correct in factual matters.

Thanks first of all for taking the time to 'sic' my typo. I appreciate your diligence and carefulness.

The point is that there are no good or bad 'races'. Arabs are far from the only people to base slavery on skin colour and to commit genocide for their own gain. All of man's designated 'races' are capable of equal horrors.

If Patton had blamed the weakness of the Arab peoples on their embracing of Islam I could have agreed.

The problem is not because of a combination of 'bad races' because there are no good or bad 'races.' All have a proclivity to evil.

Could be the reason that Patton was a great leader is that he was NOT PC!
