From what you've said in the past I thought all liberals were atheists. Now you're becoming more realistic.

    1. I am a progressive(except on social issues).

    2. It has nothing to do with who is president. The economy is teetering on the verge of collapse. If we don't get the economy back on its feet the yearly budget deficit will be the least of our concerns.

I disagree... Liberals want to be good keepers of our Brothers and responsible stewards of the earth God gave us dominion over.

No different than the GOP wanting gov solution to abortion... I guess it's ok if gov gets involved with your cause but it's hilarious if someone would like them to help with their cause...???

    What a ridiculous argument. Abortion ? C'mon.

I'm not GOP. I'm a conservative. I know democrats who aren't liberal. Lots of them.

Just another gutless attempt to not deal with the real subject.

Then insert conservative where I wrote GOP. Doesn't change the facts,...

Gov can support your cause but it's hilarious for them to support a liberal cause.

No, it is a bad argument, and I'm not going to address it further. Except to say it's the liberals who make sure abortion stays legal & frequent.

So which are you accusing me of being: a Marxist who wants more power or a gullible person who wants everything handed to me?

And as usual, Dragonfly has nothing to add to the subject, except an off topic smear.

I'd LOVE to debate the benefits of either stance with you, anytime, DF. I'd love you to tell me exactly how brave liberals are, and give a few examples of the strength it takes to have the government take care of you.

But I won't hold my breath.

Sorta... The conservatives have been in control of both the congress and the white house and no law or amendment to the constitution was ever passed. You can't just exclusively put abortion on Liberals. The other party has their hands dirtied also.

In a country where varying view, cultures, priorities and beliefs exist Government must supply the balance and cohesion to make us all coexist. They do this with laws. This means it's not about individuals as much as about majorities. No one likes minority groups like blacks having special laws when it comes to how many should be hired at a company. However, it was the majority who saw the discrimination and felt the need for such laws which is how they were passed. Saying it was Jese Jackson or Al Sharpton who passed those laws is absolutely ridiculous, neither has ever had that much power.

Does that mean you should think like the majority? No, absolutely not. You are entitled to your own feelings, priorities and beliefs. But does my beliefs, priorities or feelings have to be a ridiculous argument or hilarious because they don't parallel or agree with yours? That is the question and that is the problem with our democracy. No one respects or acknowledges the legitimacy of the views or beliefs from the other side.

So you are exactly right, "it is a bad argument" because your cause is obviously greater than any cause I advocate so much so that it is ridiculous to compare them side by side or one for one.

I see said the blind man...

Nope. Wrong again. Like abortion, wealth redistribution that benefits the lazy, cannot be reconciled with scripture. And racial quotas are another liberal tool that has helped drive business out of America.

The point is, you want the government to do your caring for you, thru punitive efforts on the successful. . That is gutless, and lazy. And it certainly isn't biblical.
