Our church wants to do a "Halloween alternative" on Sunday night, October 31. We'd like to make it a movie night (followed by food, of course!). What would be some cool music videos and a movie to show that would appeal to our urban, black and hispanic, jr high and sr. high kids? Not necessarily a hard-hitting Gospel message, but definately Christian.

My cousin's church does a Pumpkin Patch party. The kids come dressed up in costume, have food & games in fellowship hall, and then go from room to room on the church grounds where they do a different activity and get a treat.

In the big room, they typically show the Charlie Great Pumpkin video, and then some classid Disney shorts, like Through the Looking Glass, and the one where Mickey goes through a scary house (can't remember the name).

How about some music videos? What ones? These are city kids, representing varied ethnic groups.

    What other movies?

We have done a Fall Festival for many years now with costumes and each room set up with an activity which gives candy for any attempt at the game. We don't show a movie but do offer food to everyone for free. We have 600 or so kids come through each year too.

With our new pastor, we're not sure what he considers the alternative. His previous church has done something but it might be different from what we've done in the past PLUS with Halloween falling on Sunday....

I honestly can't think of a movie other than maybe the really old left behind movie where the husband awakens to an empty house.

Have you ever thought about getting live entertainment? A band. A Christian Magician. Someone who does puppets....
