WASHINGTON - When the Republican Party decided to coordinate expenses with John McCain's presidential campaign, who knew it would be color coordinated.

The Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other "campaign accessories" in September for the McCain campaign after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the ticket as his running mate.

This is pretty normal. It happens on both sides.

Nope, they've already audited Obama's finance sheets and there are no such entries. Don't forget, Michelle wore a $150 dress to the convention.

I don't know if it's Sarah the Reformer or Sarah the Shopper...

I do, they said he had a $400 haircut.

However, Palin has spent over $4000 on hair and makeup. I guess she's 10x better than John.

Yeah, but she spent over 400 bucks on an afternoon snack!!

News flash: It's already been reported on FNC that Sarah Palin intends to donate the wardrobe to charity after the election. What's Michelle gonna do, puke those lobster tails?

You don't know, Michelle may have given her left overs to a soup kitchen.

I hope the homeless person appreciates the $6K dress...

You could put Sarah Palin in a $6.00 rag from Big Lots or Dollar General and she'd still be a babe.

The people who think this is news probably also think that the lead story on the 6:30 evening news should have Paris Hilton or Madonna's divorce as some part of the lead. This is preposterous and a sham and shows how far the NY Times has fallen as a substantive journalistic endeavor.

I'm seeing Dems make an issue of this on tv. Really? An issue? You're wasting oxygen while people are losing their jobs and we have troops fighting overseas.

Show me where the Democrats have spent $150,000 on making Obama look better.

Remember the fun people poked at other candidates in the past for expenseive haircuts, etc. I do not believe any of those expenses were reported as being paid for by their respective parties.

Did you not see the tailor-made suit he was wearing at the last "big" engagement?

How much money is the Obama campaign spending on their election night party? I would imagine that it's a lot more than $150,000. Seems I recall Bill Clinton holding up a major airport so he could get his hair cut. Both sides waste money big time.

The question was/is not whether he wears nice suits. The question is did he pay for the suit, or did the Democratic party. My guess is he paid for it. I have searched some on the Internet and find no links saying the clothes are bought for him.

I do not believe the Palin clothing issue is going to play well with many American families who are worried about the economy.

Sure, she should dress nicely and I understand the thinking by the RNC ... but ........

Big party after every presidential election.

And you just made fun of Clinton which justifies Palin being in the spotlight also.
