Our brother thought evengelism was his first call to ministry, but it really was from God to ministrer to his wife first!

Your kindness should not depend on her acknowledgement.

Now...think of something else you can do that would be a blessing and encouragement to her.

yea, God will have to change her heart Evan.....that's going to take time im afraid. But keep up the resolve and I know its hard (Ive been there .... I REJECTED HER when she was drinking, she was drinking because she couldn't deal with the loss of our child--- it was an ugly situation.) So be patient.

Your relationship did not crumble in one day, so do not expect reconciliation in one day. Just pray. Now, do not do this UNLESS you still love her. If you do not love her, reconciliation will not happen, and even if it does, it will not last.

How I feel is irrelevant to her wanting to reconcile. Reconciliation goes both ways.

All I am saying is if you do not love her, if you two reconcile, it will not last. If you still love her, then proceed with caution, and slowly attempt to regain her trust. Both of you will be in my prayers.

Actually, how you feel - and how you act - and how you believe makes ALL of the difference in the world for her wanting to reconcile, Evan. Trust me, as a woman, I know if my husband is just doing something to placate me or because it is what he though he had to to make me happy. I don't accept placating - I accept love - the real true love that comes from the heart.

So the question I have for you is this: Do you love your wife with a sacrificial love that would cause you to leave all behind for her?

I know you have been through a lot. It certainly sounds like your wife is also going through a painful time in her life as well. I am glad that you are at least seeking, for your part, some type of reconciliation. Just don’t do this with yourself in mind. Do this with humility, regarding your wife as more important than yourself. I think that if you approach this issue having the same attitude that was also in Christ (that he humbled himself by becoming obedient do death on a cross in order that we, while we were yet sinners, might be saved) you will go a long way in terms of obedience. I don’t know if you will ever reconcile with your wife. But that should be your goal. And if this is truly your goal, then I do not see this as anything but a repentant heart on your part.

I hope that one day you will look back at this time in your life as the work of God and lessons learned. I know it is tough, brother, but hang in there.
