I recently purchased the book "Alleged Discrepancies of the Bible," by John W. Haley. It is a book that was originally printed in 1874 and was offered in a reprint by Whittaker House.

It's a wonderful book. It was written in response to the growth and missionary efforts of the higher critics to corrupt belief in the Bible. Haley was a 19th century apologist, who put this volume together along with other apologists throughout Europe at that time. It addresses almost all of the major alleged contradictions of the Bible. It hold up very well today. What's amazing is how little higher criticism has changed in the last 140 years. Walter Kaiser in the equally excellent book, "Hard Sayings of the Bible," uses the word "magisterial" to describe Haley's book.

I was unable to find the book on the web or at a local bookstore, but was able to special order from the LifeWays bookstore here in St. Louis. The price was $6.99, well worth that.
