From Jack Deere's Suprised by the Power of the Spirit. Quote from J.I. Packer.

"In spite of their disdain for the “traditions of men,” the insistence of many conservative Christians in demanding that adults accept traditions of faith and practice in the manner of children who are told to shut their eyes, open their mouths, and swallow whatever is tipped in is not a maturing thing; at best it leads to bigotry, at worst it leads to cultism."

Amen to that. We have too much spoon feeding goign on in our churches. Pastors ought to be teaching the people how do get in the Word and learn and grow.

Instead they are taking perverse pride in turning new believers into "little preachers" with the same learning disabilities their pastor has!
