So Lindsey is not responsible for his false predictions through the years?

I am sure there are some people that are just out to get him. But let's be honest here, his track record is not good at all.

    Proverbs 6:16,19 (HCSB = Christian Standard Bible /Holman, 2003/):

    16 Six things the Lord hates;
in fact, seven are detestable to Him: ...
19 a lying witness who gives false testimony,
and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.

And we should also hate these false witnesses
about Hal Lindsey who bring division among
    the brothers of BB.

Ed, I think because you and Lindsey agree on theology you are allowing that to blind you from the obvious truth that the man has made numerous false predictions. If he wants people to stop holding him accountable, then he should stop making all of these predictions and leave the end to the Lord.

What? Hal Lindsey may not be ALL that accurate? Even a 'false prophet' according to some? Say it isn't so, somebody! Why didn't someone tell me that his prophecy was not foolproof BEFORE I bought his latest book two moths ago?? Why? That was twenty five bucks! [IMG] Or maybe I misunderstood. But I'm sure I thought I heard someone say he was a Prophet seeking; non-profit write...!

    Hello PastorSBC1303.

Thanks for the info but it is not relevant unless supported from actual quotes that we can pin on him. The wheres count. I'm with you and I like this sort of stuff but it should be collaborated.

I was converted by a man from an Anglican Church who was mobilised by one Maurice Cellerllo and I was not caught in that tangled web. Praise the Lord.

A sister of mine, so I am told, has found Benny Hinn (under some rock or other) and I have been trying to get in touch with her about him. What I need is facts supported by links, any chance?
I've watched his antics, very profitable I'm sure, but I want info on dates and times he is reported as saying.

Yea? Bring it on Yank. Let's destroy the world together a? Russia has just attacked our gas giant, British Gas, by leaking the fact, or otherwise, that they are wanting to buy out our main gas supplier, on the stock exchange. What will America do when a Russian companies try that on you? They have always been into controlling power.

Any dirt like that will be fine but it must be backed up.

PastorSBC1303: //So Lindsey is not responsible for his

I am sure there are some people that
are just out to get him. But let's be honest here, his track
record is not good at all.//

Actually, no part of his 'track record' has been
reported in this topic FROM RELIABLE SOURCES. What we need
to do is look at his writings and see if we can get two
to agree that he made a prediction at all, then if it was
    a correct prediction or incorrect.
We do NOT need to look further at what people PAID to dis him
are saying about him, they are going to throw dirt at him,
they are PAID to do it. Let us look at what he said.

You see, in 1980-1983 I was working on a master's degree
(I must have about 60% of three different master's degrees,
which is, well, worthless :( ). It was in the University
of Oklahoma (OU) School of Advanced Studies (or something like
that, BTW, my mother got a Bachelor's Degree from the same school).
Anyway, you pick what you are studying. I was sudying
'Futurism' (which is far from 'studying the future' for the future
hasn't happened and there is nothing to study).

Anyway, there are three main groups of futurists:

    1. the rosy, technology will solve all problems, crowd
    2. the 'ah phooey', we are going to kill ourselves, crowd
    3. the mystic fringe (God will intervene crowd)

Needless to say, i studied some works of Hal Lindsey for
this project. One of the differences i studied is the
    vast difference between:

    A. predictors who guess
    B. 'predictors' who have found patterns.

And usually those 'predictors' who have found patterns are
want to relate the patterns they found. The predictors who
guess try to sell their guesses as from some higher power (God is
a higher power, in fact, the real and only 'higher power')

Well said, Ed. Let everything be proved by two or three genuine witnesses. [IMG]

I have read Hal Lindsey; and I heard him “teach,” in person, several times, while he was serving as an assistant pastor at a church. The church fired him; the official reason was that he usurped authority over the pastor.

My personal opinion is that Hal Lindsey was a self-appointed Bible scholar who forgot to get an education. His knowledge of the Bible and Biblical hermeneutics would not have qualified him to teach a junior boys' Sunday school class, at least not in my church. I don’t know who was the bigger fool—Hal Lindsey or the people who believed what he wrote and taught.

There are very many fine Christian scholars and writers; I can’t imagine why anyone would fall for Hal Lindsey and his nonsense.

    johnp. Wrote,

Are you sure that is not the liar and the fraud Morris Cerullo, the husband of Teresa Cerullo, and the president of World Evangelism, who is semi-illiterate and has a ghost writer write all of his books?

Am 7:14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:

    1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;

You're "Badly mistaken" if you believe a "worldly Education" is necessary to understand the scriptures, whomever God calls/God equip.

Ac 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

What do you think lads could Maurice get me a new set of teeth as I ruined the ones the Lord gave me

The very one Craig. HaHa! I don't know who he is married to but I must say he done alright for himself.
I realised very early on that he was a false prophet by reading his stuff and this did cause me a little concern but a false prophet calling people to follow the real God is to be listened to as far as that goes. One does not throw the baby out with the bath water. Or bilge water in this case.
After all a false prophet saying whoever calls on the Name of Jesus is correct regardless of the false prophet's destination.

I was watching Cerullo on the tele the other day. I don't know what that touching on the head thing is all about but I saw that he is careless with it.

If one asks Joseph to name a true prophet, the answer would no doubt be Pat Robertson. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] :D

I would disagree strongly with this statement. Did not the classes you took benefit you in some way? For example, I did not go to college to get a degree in economics, but I was blessed to have an acquaintance who was an economics professor at George Mason. Through him, I was able to attend many classes (both his and others), which benefitted me greatly. However, that's not what my major was, and I can't even offer any proof that I ever attended the classes.

Did they or did they they not benefit me? I don't think they were worthless.

Other than that, Me4Him speaks wisdom.
