What does the above mean?
The updated edition was released in 1995 and has not been revised since.
But the ESV has had a small revision involving 275 verses --less than 500 words. To quote Lane Dennis,President of Crossway :that's :"one-hundreth of the changes made recently in other leading Bible translations." I guess he views the mild update as a badge of honor.
Here's one update that Rod Decker pointed out:
The old ESV : Mark 4:3 :"Listen! A sower went out to sow."
The New ESV : "Listen! Behold,a sower went out to sow."
Firstly, the NASB was revised in 1995; not the NKJV.
According to my contact at Nelson, the NKJV has never been formally updated; however, changing a word here and a word there has been somewhat ongoing, and has never been formally announced.
