Have you ever heard a person call out to the Lord for their salvation? Actually ask God to save them? If so do you believe they got saved? Are or you still in doubt about their salvation?

I've led many people to Christ, and have heard each one cry out to God to save their soul..

Yes, I do believe they were saved.
    Romans 10:13

It is not up to me to pronounce people saved or unsaved. Only time will tell if their lives have been transformed by Holy Spirit.

    peace to you:praying:

Plus it depends on the circumstances. How many death bed connfessions are really from the heart?

Yes, I have (myself for one) and have even led a couple in prayer myself to salvation as well as bringing people to others to deal with them when I didn't know what to do. There's nothing like seeing someone come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Why is it so hard to believe that when a person calls on Christ they are saved?
Do I have to tell them they are saved? No. The Word of God does!

That means more to them than some words from me.

If a person calls on Jesus to save them, THEY ARE SAVED!
If you don't believe that, get out of the ministry.

Again, you can't get plainer than this:
    Romans 10:13
    (13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I've heard people thus pray who were doing so because of psychological maniupulation, personal distress, pressure of family.

But without repentance and genuine faith, that is just another "religious" thing people do and think they've pleased God.

I cannot judge who has called from a heart of faith and who has called otherwise. Just been pastoring 37 years and guarantee that not all who make such a prayer are saved. Not by a long shot.

    I agree with Dr. Bob.

I called with no answer several times. It was when I really gave Him my whole heart and soul and was really willing to die the natural death but asked Him to save my dying soul that I felt the burden be lifted from me. amen,

It all depends on the definition of "call upon"
I agree with both Bobs above...

Of course if someone doesn't call upon Christ for true salvation, they would not be saved. But when they come forward with a repentant heart, wanting to be saved, and they believe the Gospel, when they call upon the Lord for salvation... I truly believe they were saved eternally, right then and there. I have nothing else to go on.

Even the people in our churches we don't know for sure... But we have their testimony. And when someone says they are saved, and they have a repentent heart, and believes the right stuff... who am I to say they are not? I am not God... I am only His messenger.

But I can point them to His word that says that if they call upon Him they will be saved.

"But I can point them to His word that says that if they call upon Him they will be saved". This statement made by tinytim is of the upmost importance. If this statement were clearly understood and openly stated by more Pastors and more Evangelists I believe we would see an explosion in conversions!!!!

    mima,

what you say is true....however we cannot take one statement from the Bible and ignore others. Each Bible verse must be mitigated and defined through the rest of Scripture. "Call upon the name of the Lord" is significant, it meant something in Bible days, and it was specific. Based on the rest of Scripture this statement does not mean a magical set of words which are like casting a spell. This statement is a heart-cry from the person to God based on their knowledge that they are under condemnation and want to be reconciled to God.

I think you know this.........I think also that sometimes your zeal can cause you to look at others and assume that they are doing something wrong (or their message is wrong) because those others don't see large numbers saved. This is not wise on your part, mostly because it creates in you the potential for bitterness to arise in your heart. Ive been there, and I know what it does. By all means, don't lose your zeal, just channel it in the right direction.

I also know the good you are doing, and your heart to see people come to Christ. You keep doing what you know you need to do. Take what you read here, and learn from it. Don't assume that you already have everything down pat, you still have room for improvement.....like all of us....:)

Yes, I have and have no reason to believe he wasn't saved. God said in Romans 10:13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. He said it, and that makes it so.
