    Matthew 26-64

Jesus saith unto him(high priest of verse 62)Thou hast said:nevertheless I say unto you(high priest again)Hereafter SHALL YE SEE the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power and COMING IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.

The High priest of Christ's day was a witness just as jesus made known to him he would be of The Coming of jesus in the clouds of heaven.

you can try and pick this apart and reject it--but its evident that Jesus came again in that High priest lifetime and that Generation when it was spoken.

Jesus said HE WOULD SEE IT !!! Jesus has already came back and we are missing it just like the jews missed it when he first came in the flesh--as a whole we are no better than they were they rejected him--and so does this generation--how sad that we cant receive instead of reject God's own words.

I looked up Matthew 26:64 at biblehub.com. That site is wonderful because it lists some of the corresponding verses that go with the verse you enter.

I saw this one verse in particular: Daniel 7:13. So I read all of Daniel 7 and here is Daniel 7:13-14.

Here, this reference to Jesus seems to be saying that He is approaching God's presence IN heaven "coming with the clouds of heaven" and is being given all authority, glory, and sovereign power there.

It sounds triumphal and it says that all nations and people are there worshiping Him.

To me, and someone correct me if I am wrong, this is not the return of Jesus, in the clouds, to earth. It's another "cloudy" event.

Perhaps when the high priest acted so ugly and demanded that Jesus explain whom He was - well, Jesus did. It seems to me that Jesus told them that there would be another judgment day - when He was the Judge and the REAL High Priest. And He told him that there would be a day where he, the earthly and mortal high priest, would see it for himself - a day where Jesus, "coming in clouds of heaven" (IN heaven) would be presented before the "Ancient of Days" and be seated as His right hand and having the authority to judge not only the earthly high priest, but all nations there flat on their faces proclaiming that Jesus is God's Son.

To me, that's what made the high priest in the next verse so spitting mad.

Jesus told him that one day, because Jesus IS God and God's Son, that He would be the final Judge because He is the real High Priest.

    I'm open to correction.

Then you will have Matt 24--when jesus says that that generation would not pass away till all these things(all Matt 24)be fulfilled.

I think you're on to something. If compared to Matt.24:30, "...and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory...." which appears to ref. the rapture,... the verses from Matt. 26 have Jesus sitting on the throne (sitting on the right hand of power) which is an image of judgment.

"The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen— Deuteronomy 18:5

Those poor fellas back then never had a chance to listen to this prophet in their lifetime, yet Moses said they need to listen to him, or shall listen to him.

actually was deut 18-15 that you presented

what you are neglecting here is that jesus said before that generation in which he was speaking to passed away all would be fulfilled--all of Matt 24 was fulfuilled before that generation passed.

    Correct, 18:15 is the passage.

I'm neglecting nothing and I didn't exactly address your passage. Certainly you are aware of this fact?

So you stand incorrect. I didn't address the passage you gave, but presented another passage in contrast. That said, did the 'you' of Deuteronomy 18:15 see these things happen in their time?

This is why I gave this other passage which was not fulfilled among the contemporaries Moses was addressing. They passed away prior to this fulfillment and yet he said 'you'.

That is what I am saying.

    See?

I do see what you are saying--lets see if we can break it down.

the passage you gave when dealing with the you in it is referring to Israel.
God would raise up a prophet from among the brethren of it.
    unto the prophet shall you(Israel)hearken.
the you is very plainly Israel and Israel did hear the prophet that God raised up from among them and they rejected him.

The prophet did speak to the you and the you did hear him.

You see it, you just don't want to see it. This is why you avoid answering the question 'did they see this in their time'. :wavey:

    Matthew 24-2

And jesus said unto them(disciples of verse 1)See YE not all these things?verily I say unto you,There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down

    24-14

And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;and then the end shall come.
Romans 16-26:BUT NOW is made manifest and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God,made known to ALL NATIONS for the obedience of faith.
Colossians 1 5-6:For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof YE heard before in the word of the truth of the Gospel.
WHICH(truth of the gospel)is come unto you,as IT IS IN ALL THE WORLD;and bringeth forth fruit,as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it,and knew the grace of God in truth.

the city of Jerusalem was destroyed in ad 70--just as jesus said that it would happen in the text I gave above to the disciples--they saw it

The Gospel would be preached in all the world then the end--I gave you 2 scriptures that proved that was the very case in the same disciples time--it was fulfilled--and they saw it

jesus said himself that ALL these things(all of what he just said in Matthew 24)would be fulfilled before THAT generation passed--I just gave you 2 examples of this and they are more--some of the disciples were taken and killed like Jesus told THEM they would be and they was.

jesus told THEM when THEY SEE the city compassed with armies(happened in ad 70 FULFILLED)and he said that was the desolation Daniel spoke about so that was fulfilled

evidence is certainly there of these and all the rest friend.

    Blessings to you :love2::love2::love2:

    How cute!!!

    Now answer the question.

Did the ones Moses spoke to, the contemporaries expressed in the 'you' shall listen to him, see this fulfilled to themselves or no?

let me ask you a question--why do you not reflect on the text and scriptures I gave unto you--if those things happened as I presented them--then say they did---if you don't think they happened then say they didn't ?

One more time: Answer the question.

Did the fulfillment happen to the ones Moses addressed? Yes or no?

With the answer being 'no'...well then...!!!

Joshua was the prophet he was talking about in your text--after Moses died--the people needed another one to lead them--one like unto Moses--the text said--wasn't Joshua Moses right hand man in a sense ???

God put his words into Joshua for to lead and command the people--that very same group of people(YOU) seen it and hearkened unto Joshua after Moses went off the scene.

    You're incorrect, but nice try!

Not so. Christ was the One to Whom he spoke.

Not Joshua, as Aben Ezra, not Jeremiah, as Baal Haturim, nor David (o), as others; nor a succession of prophets, as Jarchi; for a single person is only spoken of; and there is a dissimilitude between Moses and anyone of the prophets, and all of them in succession, Deu_34:10, but the Messiah, with whom the whole agrees; and upon this the expectation of a prophet among the Jews was raised, Joh_6:14 and is applied to him, and referred to as belonging to him in Act_3:22, who was a prophet mighty in word and deed, and not only foretold future events, as his own sufferings and death, and resurrection from the dead, the destruction of Jerusalem, and other things; but taught and instructed men in the knowledge of divine things, spake as never man did, preached the Gospel fully and faithfully, so that as the law came by Moses, the doctrine of grace and truth came by him; and he was raised up of God, called, sent, commissioned and qualified by him for the office of a prophet, as well as was raised from the dead as a confirmation of his being that extraordinary person:

I think you are wrong here--the people needed someone to lead them after Moses that was liken unto Moses--in the later verses it was explained to them about prophets--whether they were true or not--if what they said come to pass then they were true and if not then not true--God was guiding these people to let them know that when Joshua came on the scene and that that he said came to pass that he was truly the prophet God chose to give them---and so they hearkened unto him.

Got to go with Joshua here

Not at all. You're incorrect yet again. Perhaps your ME leanings have led you astray? Yes, this is certain.

Christ was spoken of here, yet you wish to take that from Him and to whom it refers.

Many more have concluded it is Christ here spoken of.
