Obama fear mongering and using scare tactics, since we love Children, I believe this story might describe how bad things are...

When figures like this are published, yes I am interested and concerned...... but I am also skeptical about how they come to this conclusion.

I remember a report a short while back regarding the number of hungry children being interpreted as children going without food: When examined closely, the criteria by which this data was collected was based mainly on the response to one simple question being asked of children: "Have you ever been hungry and you didn't have something to eat?"
Homelessness? 1 in 50 kids? I guess that in December/January of 1959/60 when my dad retired from the Navy, and we came via way of an Aunt's house in Al for a temporary stay, us five kids were 'homeless' for a while. As far as us kids knew.... we were 'homeless'. We weren't totally without shelter, but we were 'homeless' and with what little we were told regarding family finances and plans..... as far as our experience was concerned..... we felt a degree of desperation and anxiety in not knowing where we would live and go to school or whether dad would find work to put food on the table.

I'm sure there are homeless kids....... homeless families. There have been some here in our area and the churches have been actively involved in helping with shelter, sponsorship, finding work and places to rent........ offering support systems to help them reestablish a footing while maintaining family stability.

According to your article the worst States were Louisiana, Texas and California.

Louisiana - because of a hurricane - no surprise there - but those kids weren't put out into the streets. The government provided and is still providing housing in many cases. Others moved elsewhere or live with relatives. A non-issue as far as I am concerned. It says nothing about our society or the economy or the issue of homelessness in general.

Texas and California - can you say illegal aliens? Perhaps they should simply go home? Then they would not be "homeless".

The story describes how bad the liberal agenda is and their failed surveys.

Generally when a bill or a tax passes becuase of kids (like an increase on property tax for the school board) I call it an, "Its for the kids" tax, act, or bill. Liberals are always using children to promote their agenda(s).

If liberals really cared about children, they wouldn't murder them before birth or leave them to die on dirty laundry when their abortion attempts fail. Spare us the rhetoric libbies, please. It's disgusting.:BangHead:

My guess- the "National Center on Family Homelessness" is looking for a government handout so they can do more "studies" of this ilk.

I think I'm gonna start something called "The International Center for the Acclimatization to Nihility in our Time", also known as "ICANT".

The sole purpose of the foundation would be to convince people that they cannot do anything without government help. Should be able to rake in a couple mil in government grants with that!
