Good it was the right thing to do even though the Senate will refuse to do the right thing. And of course Obama does not have it in him to do the right thing. Repealing Obamacae is at the top of the list of things that need and should be done.

Only a minority favor Obamacare so the GOP is merely representing the will of the majority. While the stock market rises from all of the money that the Federal Reserve is printing, the economy itself is flat and unemployment remains at the highest levels since the Great Depression. As Obamacare begins to take effect, it is widely characterized as a train wreck.

My wife works for a doctor's office. You would not believe the turmoil this causes, both in quality of care, pricing, and paperwork. The whole thing makes their jobs much harder, concentrating on documentation rather than medical care. The bottom line is people are going to recieve worse care, at a higher price, and fewer will be served, the ultimate opposite that the law was suppose to accomplish.

Some say that the law was intended to accomplish just what it is doing. The Democrats seem to show no remorse or willingness to delay the implementation of Obamacare. I think that they are going to shut down research and development in drug companies.

I read a biography of Eli Lilly, the grandson of the founder of the Lilly Pharmaceuticals here in Indy. They began to manufacture insulin in the 1920s and it costs about 7 cents a day to use the medicine. In those days all of the manufacturers had an unwritten gentlemen's agreement to keep prices low by calculating costs and adding a certain percentage of profit. A couple of other corporations also manufactured insulin. FDR accused Lilly of price-fixing because everyone was charging the same. Legal costs became so high that Lilly was forced to plead guilty and pay a fine to FDR just to end the nightmare--so the government has 80 years of a record of harassment in the medical industry. In spite of all the good that Lilly had done, the company was smeared for political reasons by the Democrats.

That's exactly what it's doing. A phased in approach to put all all forms of health care & administration directly in the hands of the federal government. A work that has been in progress since the concept of business sponsored group insurance was enabled during WWII.

Prior to that health insurance was between individuals and their carrier. Same concept as auto insurance is today. If your vehicle is ailing, you and the repair shop agree to repairs needed. Your insurance co will pay the mechanic based on what you've agreed to include/exclude from your coverage.

Once so many of the nation began to rely on group coverage via employment, that paved the way for the government to start issuing mandates, based on a whole string of excuses (ie laws they passed for the sake of the "common good".) We're now at the stage where the employer is being phased out. The government is becoming the "employer" in a sense.

I used to administer group insurance for a company. One of my jobs was to specify the line item details of what was and wasn't to be included, when our coverage needs were put out for bid. Instead of my former employer being able to do that today, Uncle Sam is doing it instead, as Obamacare takes over.

Once the conversion is complete, everyone from cradle to grave, will be on Medicare -- retitled unofficially as Obamacare. Medicare, itself, started in 1965 has been a testing ground, so to speak. What the government could and could not to without raising the ire of the entire population. Plus, the intervening years, gave plently of time for the population to grow accustomed to the government meddling in the health care of a specific and targeted group of people. People, generally, who were must vunerable for several reasons.

Yes, the law is doing exactly what it's intended to do.

Yes, agreed. I'm no fan of Obamacare but this is the 37TH TIME the House will vote to repeal Obamacare. The vote will go down in flames again.

Some of the reasons for this vote are to remind people that the IRS will be administering Obamacare. It seems likely that Obamacare could deny people coverage based upon their unhealthy political activities.
