Nope, sorry, I really couldn't care less about that question, but the question of Jesus' humanity and divinity is a foundational issue that goes to the core of our theology. When you eliminate either, you cause severe problems with your soteriology. Those are the main two issues that most cults diverge from the truth on.

This issue of Jesus' humanity came up recently on another thread on this forum that started off about Mary. If you go to the link and go to about the 6th post down, you will see that the question of Jesus' conception came up and this discussion went on for the rest of that page and into page 2. This directly related to the humanity of Jesus and I was surprised at some of the posts I saw on this. Topic started off on Mary but went into the conception of Jesus, and this brought up the topic of his humanity.

He was the perfect man, yet completely God.
    He was the God-Man!

This is a good time for a shameless plug for a book.

I would like to recommend The Word of Life by Thomas C. Oden. (CBD is having a sale, where all three of his books in hardback... The Living God, The Word of Life, and Life in the Spirit are available for about $25 for the set. Individually they run about $15 each for the paperbacks.

WoL was my Christology book in college. GREAT BOOK! Oden looks at Christology from Scripture, then to the pre and post-Nicene writers, the medieval sources, the Reformation, and the modern era. If anybody wants to know what so and so said, post the question and I'll see what I can find in that text for you. It's currently on my personal reread list, but I won't be in it until probably July.

    Regards,

    Gene

I didn't mean that asserting Jesus' humanity and divinity was silly; I meant arguing about how it is possible for Jesus' blood to be divine/human is silly. Surely if he is God, then his blood is divine? And human? At the same time? Am I missing something here?????

The point was that his physical blood was human, and not divine in any sense of the word.

Several dangerous heresies revolve around the supposed divinity of Christ's human blood

I had a lady in my church one time who said and I quote, "Jesus was the most human human being who ever lived."

    -inserts Lea's 2 cents-

    Here's a theroy-

He was God with the FULL KNOWLEDGE who he was. Therefore, he knew what he could do, and knew is purpose on earth. THEREFORE, he was human, but he was God. HE was perfect in spirit, but his body decayed to prove a point. Jesus came on this Earth so that WE ALL might go to heaven. HE was human born from Mary, but died so that we might have a second chance.

HE was human he was born, he IS God, enough said ;)

    God Bless

Actually, the Scriptures specifically state that he didn't decay, at all.
