ARE YOU 100% SURE THAT IF YOU DIED TODAY THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?

There are some things that you should know:

    1. Realize that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior:

Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

This all began with the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect, there was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sin entered into the world. The pain which this world sees is the result of sin.

    2. Because of our sins, we die both spiritually and physically, but God sent His Son to die so that you can have a chance not to have to go to hell by accepting what He did on the cross for you:

Ro 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Ro 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. for us."

Every person who has ever lived is a sinner and is not righteous because we do bad things. A sin is a crime against God, just as if you steal something at the store, it is punishable by going to jail. It's the same thing with sin. Even if we lie one time, the punishment is hell, which is a prison for those who commit crimes against God. That’s because you must be perfect in order to get to heaven. No matter how well you live your life from then on, you have already committed a sin which will be punished if you are not pardoned. If you commit a crime, and then live as a good citizen you still will go to jail for the crime you committed. Right? Just as the president can pardon a crime so you won't go to jail, Jesus can pardon your sins so that you do not go to hell, and can go to heaven when you die.

    3. If you will Admit to Jesus Christ that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior, Believe in your heart that He died on the cross and rose from the dead and Accept Him as your Lord and Savior and you will be forgiven and taken to heaven to be with Him when you die.

Joh 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”

Ro 10:9,10 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.."

You cannot get to heaven by being a good person, going to church, baptism or any other way other than by turning to Jesus, believing in your heart that He died on the cross and rose from the dead for your sins and placing your trust in Him. While these are good things to do, some people believe that they will get to heaven if they do these things, but the bible says that there is only one way to heaven and that is through receiving what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you.

Will you do that today? If you will, you can be 100% sure that you will go to heaven when you die.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD FOR YOUR SINS?

ARE YOU WILLING TO TURN TO JESUS CHRIST FOR SALVATION?

    4. If you are willing to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and believe it with all of your heart, you could pray something like this to God from your heart:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that You died on the Cross and Rose from the dead for my sins. I ask you to come into my heart and forgive me for my sins, save me, take me to be with You when I die. I now receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus holy name, Amen."

If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ and meant it with all of your heart, you are now a child of God and will go to heaven.

Now that you are on your way to heaven, you should attend a bible believing church and follow in baptism.

    Greetings xfrodobagginsx,

No, I do not believe in going to heaven when I die. I believe that if I died today I would be buried and await the resurrection, and then join with Christ and the faithful in the Kingdom of God upon the earth. Acts chapters 2 and 3 and Acts 8:5,12 are good examples of the preaching of the Apostles and Evangelists, and this is different to the substance and method of your preaching.

    Kind regards
    Trevor

    Greetings again xfrodobagginsx ,
I cannot speak for others, but I am not a Baptist, but I have been baptised after a belief of the gospel of the kingdom and name.
Acts 8:5,12 (KJV): 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. 12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

As this particular forum is titled “Other Christian denominations” I suspect that there are a number of people from Other Christian denominations, as well as Baptists who discuss with them some of their differing views. At least that has been my experience and there has been a large amount of tolerance of differing views for the purpose of discussion, even though some have claimed some of these views to be heretical. Were you trying to get a response from Baptists, potential Baptists, or convert some of us hardened believers from Other Christian denominations?

Two main elements of your OP is heaven and hell and this reminds me of my visit to a Baptist Church some 20 years ago where the preacher tried to scare us about going to hell, if we didn’t repent.

For my part I expect to go to hell when I die, the same hell that Jesus was in for three days. I will then wait for the resurrection at the return of Jesus.
Psalm 16:8-11 (KJV): 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

The above is quoted by Peter on the Day of Pentecost. Could I ask you, if you believe that we go to heaven when we die, Why does Peter say that David has not ascended to heaven?
Acts 2:29,34-36 (KJV): 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Where is David’s immortal soul now?

    Kind regards
    Trevor

You are ignoring the context. David is being quoted in regard to the RESURRECTION of the body and ascension of Christ into heaven BODILY. David's body is still in the grave, David has not ascended BODILY into heaven and so the conclusion Peter draws is that David must have been speaking about Christ rather than about himself as Christ has ascended into heaven BODILY.

A young woman who grew up in church, but is no longer active, was asked about her hope of heaven. Her answer: "Well, I said the prayer."

Has the "Sinner's Prayer" been degraded into "Say these magic words and you'll be saved."?

Maybe we should have a thread devoted solely to what the Bible says about salvation, and how to point one to Christ.

I'm not saying that I disagree, Y1 (or, that I completely agree for that matter ). But would you please provide the Scripture of Paul explaining that upon death we will be in Heaven (Phil 1:23, I suppose, is your reference that we will be in the presence of Christ).

    Greetings The Biblicist,
Neither has David’s immortal soul or immaterial spirit ascended into heaven, as it says David has not ascended into heaven. "David" is not in two places at once, he is sleeping in the dust of the earth, awaiting the resurrection.

    Kind regards

    Christians Do go to heaven:
Mr 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
    (KJV)
Php 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
    People in heaven:
Re 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
    (KJV)
Jesus Christ is going to rule and reign on the earth. The believers will be with Him on the earth at that time. Right now believer's go to heaven to be with the Lord Jesus Christ because that is where He is.

First of all, we are not under the Gospel of the Kingdom. That was for the Jews who were still under the Law. We are under Paul's Gospel of Grace.

Ro 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Ro 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Ro 7:14 ¶ For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
1Co 9:21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
1Co 14:34 ¶ Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
Ga 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Ga 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
Ga 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Paul preached the Gospel of Grace:

Ac 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Ga 1:6 ¶ I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
    Php 1:7 ¶ Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. {I have...: or, ye have me in your heart} {of my...: or, with me of grace }

Next, The reason that Peter said that David had not ascended into heaven is because David went to Paradise in the Center of the earth. At that time, before Christ's perfect sacrifice had come, men went to Paradise because the perfect sacrifice hadn't been presented yet. After the resurrection of Christ, all of those in Paradise was taken up to heaven and those saved afterward go to heaven.

    Christians Do go to heaven:

    (KJV)

22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

    Greetings xfrodobagginsx,

I have voted “other” as your question reflects the rest of your theology presented in this thread. I have believed the gospel of Christ concerning the kingdom and the name and after confession of these things was baptised by immersion Acts 8:5,12. This is a quick response to your Post without answering every detail.
Jesus and Paul preached the gospel of the kingdom:
Luke 8:1 (KJV): And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
Acts 28:30-31 (KJV): And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, 31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

But Peter was speaking after Jesus had ascended to heaven, and David was still only in his tomb.

At least possibly we will be on earth together eventually, but I will be happy to sleep in the dust of the earth, in hell – the covered place, six feet under, until that day arrives.

    Kind regards
    Trevor

Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom I admitted that.

When Paul was Preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, it was to the Jews. He preached the Gospel of Grace to the gentiles.

I already gave you the verses that say that Christians go to heaven. You have no comment?

    Greetings again xfrodobagginsx,
I appreciate your response. I have no appreciation of how you split the one Gospel of the Scriptures into two different types of gospel. Have you ever carefully considered the Letter to the Galatians, and the difference between the Gospel and the preaching of the Judaisers - or is this different to what you are suggesting? Also Acts 8:5,12 speaks of Philip preaching of the kingdom and name to the Samaritans, and in a sense they were considered to be neither Jew nor Gentile, but an amalgam. The record in Acts 28 speaks of Paul preaching the gospel of the kingdom and name to both Jew and Gentile. There is only one Gospel, a belief of the things concerning the Kingdom of God and Name of Jesus Christ. Those that believe this Gospel are justified by faith, in other words God forgives them their sins and accounts them righteous or justified, in other words God who is merciful and gracious saves them, in other words, they are saved by grace, they receive God’s grace or forgiveness. This one Gospel available to Jew and Gentile, and preached to both by Jesus and the Apostles, is a Gospel of Grace.
I am not sure if I want to answer the many quotes that you gave, as these have been adequately discussed already on this forum. Yes Jesus is seated at the right hand of God in heaven. The following was Paul’s hope:
2 Timothy 4:1,6-8 (KJV): 1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

You have not answered as to where was David on the Day of Pentecost.

    Kind regards
    Trevor

God os the God of the living, not the dead or asleep, as paul looked forward to being out of His body and immediatly into the presence of the Lord Jesus, the One whom he served!

We have some very starnge and non baptist/bibical things being discussed on the Board, such as soul sleep and sinner perishing in the end!
