I am humbled at the thought of how great a nation God has preserved us. In no other nation can so many races of men can live together in peace (without warring against each other). I do know that there are crimes against each race that are motivated by hatred but over all, it is very safe to be amongst my fellow Americans whether they be Black, White, Oriental, Red, Brown or a "mutt." I have always enjoyed meeting people and there is no other place in the world to meet God fearing people than those right here that share the American Culture.

In my mind, No other nation in the world could ever have such a heated and contested election without a peaceful outcome. That is how God has secured and blessed this nation. He and He alone has put it into our hearts to accept the choice of our peoples.

With that said, I must state that this nation would not be where it is today without the prayers of our Founding Fathers and their reliance of the only God of Heaven. I am deeply troubled over the fact that OUR President-elect is having to deal with many assassination threats. This is not the nation I love!!! Regardless of Mr Obama's political views I am in deep prayer that his life is protected by Almighty God. Mr Obama's life would be a tragic loss and would devastate a people, that for most of their history had been disenfranchised.

Prayer for this man's safety is urgently needed.

Prayer that his economic and social agenda does not get out of Congress is also needed.

Prayer that our elected representatives get godly wisdom and that they can work together to make our nation profitable for our peoples again.

And prayer is so needed for our people that they do not get caught up in the class envy that is played so hard by officials that seek nothing but personal power.

So let's all humble ourselves and pray. :praying:

Good thoughts. I was watching a video of the G20 leaders and as far as I could tell the next time they meet Pres Obama will be the ONLY national leader amongst the major world leaders who is not part of the ethnic majority of his nation.

It does say a lot about our nation!

    Excellent post

Excellent and well thought out post. It is time to stop the barrage of anti-Obama threads and address issues as they come up. He was elected by 53% of the people, and a much great percent of the electoral college. It is ordained that he take the office, to what purpose, only God knows. We do know however, that prayer for him and the Congress is what we are to do. Maybe the humble attutude will bring mercy on this nation from God, which we do not deserve.

Never have I been anti-Obama in the sense that I opposed him because of race. I have been anti-Obama because of the policies he proposes. I will and do pray for him because that is my duty as a Christian. I will oppose him for the policies that, in my opinion, will be harmful to my country. Because that is my duty as an American and the power of this nation ultimately lies with us.

We would be amiss of our godly duties not to oppose these policies that will bring about more ungodliness to our society.

    1. Abortion that stretches itself into infanticide.
    2. Abominable wickedness of the gay movement.
    3. The underfunding of the military resulting in inadequate protection from those that want to destroy us.
    4. The confiscation of personal firearms from those of us that take the responsibility to protect ourselves.
    5. Economic policy that would hinder the upper mobility of the middle class and the poor.

We the Church can stave off God's judgment if we are diligent to stand against such policies. There is a reason why Jesus equated us as "The Salt of the earth." If the salt should loose it's savor then it will be "Trodden under the feet of men."

Now we know all the properties of salt. It preserves and it adds flavor. However I believe that Jesus was talking about the fact that salt was used as payment for a soldier's salary. When a soldier was paid he would taste it (savor) to see if it was really salt or sand. You see, many in those days would replace the salt with sand which caused it to loose it's taste and value. The unsavory, tasteless, salt would be thrown out into the dirt to be walked over without a care because it is of no more value than that of common sand.

It is my fear that this is the state that the Church is in today. It is ever becoming more like the world (sand). It is no longer looked to for the solving of social ills of society and government is taking it's place. Yes the Church is to blame for having brought us to this tenement. We have made our bed and we must dwell in it.

In stead of standing up at the founding of this great nation and advocating the freedom of all men we allowed our original sin to continue. Why did we do nothing? Well we were large land owners that sought to cultivate riches off the backs of those that were forcibly removed from their homelands. Greed (sand) replaced the savor of the salt. Instead of claiming manageable acreage that could be farmed by paid labor or themselves, they did it by forcing the innocent to give their lives for it. While many began to wake up to the fact that this travesty to our fellow man was a disgrace, 87 years of wrangling over slavery led to blood shed and judgment. The salt was trodden under the feet of men.

Today our national sin is abortion. It is cultivating a culture of death. I do not know when but if our history is any indication, 87 years from Roe v Wade, 1973 is 2060. Now what happened in 1860? Judgment of a national sin.

Many of our membership as Christians have voted for a candidate that advocates the furtherance of this culture of death. The salt would rather be concerned over the things of the world (sand), looking after economic issues rather than the things of God (life). Lusts for riches is what seems to motivate us and it is what has cost us much blood.

I don't believe for one minute, that we have 87 years. 50 million have died sense R-v-W. It is a sin of convenience with the thought of a child being an inconvenience. An inconvenience to what? Opportunity? A better life? Riches? Honor? Abortion leads to dishonor with death and destruction. Most women who under go an abortion wind up in deep depression and are not as prosperous and honored as they would ever be if they had only raised the child. Even single mothers are honored when their children succeed.

Wake up Church and let's be salt again or else be trodden under the feet of men.

Not according to the Libs - from 2000 and '04 - since only about half of the population voted than Bush only had about 20% of the vote. and when it scomes to the EC - well that shouldnt count anyways.

thats right the shoe is on the other foot now.

Aside from all the issues you mentioned, this is the same mindset that has caused the present economic crisis: greed. It is greed from the CEOs, Wall Street, the politicians, and us, by wanting things we cannot afford and have no need to have a high quality life.

The common thread in all of the is pure greed, a focus on me. It is one thing to make a reasonable profit for work, its another thing to steal from the American people and want money not earned.

Government bailouts (which are controlled by idiots), changing interest rates, etc is not going to solve this problem. The only thing that is going to stop this madness is for us to start caring about others and being humble before God. It is going to take a massive change of heart, and only Jesus can do that.

    1. I thought the Bible taught we are all descended from ONE human being couple (Adam and Eve), and therefore there is ONLY ONE RACE of humans! Until we Christians overcome "racism" in our churches, we will never have a good witness to some people.

    2. Otherwise, I think this is an excellent post. Thank you!
